Patrick needs Moore time to throw
|
I understand you need to preemptively defend anything the Chiefs even MIGHT do to keep that record of yours intact but I don't imagine you have given Dan Moore a second thought prior to the last week or two.
I've already had this dialogue with myself back in December or January. I mentioned him as an off-season possibility back while we were still playing. And decided to look into him then. And I think he's about what Wanya Morris would be. I just don't see anything he has that Morris doesn't. The Steelers just left him out there despite a horrific 2023 and he was barely adequate in 2024; mostly the same sort of excruciatingly mediocre he was in 2022. It's as likely as not that 2024 was a contract year outlier. That's not a player that's appears to be improving - it's a guy who returned to the very forgettable form he showed in 2022. |
We did very well last year with a major problem at LT, but we also had a lot of luck along the way. We don't have to get one of the best at LT, we need to get an adequate LT. It's not what any of us would prefer, especially with the prospect of breaking someone new into the LG spot, but it''s the reality we have to accept.

Both Humphries and Kingsley have the traits to do that job with health or experience respectively. Dan Moore just doesn't. |
I would rather sing Jaylon to reasonable contract and have him compete for the job. I don't think that will happen, its just the nature of free agency - he's going to get over paid....
Honestly, all the options are kinda gross - but I'd like to throw numbers at the problem - sign and draft and hope one of these guys pans out. If you end up with two starting LT - that is a good problem to have. |

And Mahomes does everything BUT make things easy on his OTs. |
Jaylon Moore’s build looks exactly like Kingsley in uniform.
If they sign him and he turns out to not be a fit… Both options have me pretty nervous. |
So we are holding our breath for Jaylon at this point, correct?
|
My Steelers fan friend just texted that Dan Moore is pretty good, so letting you all know.

Jaylon Moore has sub-34 inch arms.
Dan’s above it. |

He's average, the hope is that he can maybe keep developing into slightly above average. That's it. |
Can't find the post now, but someone on here was claiming they had inside info the Chiefs were after Dan Moore yesterday.
