One of those contracts came with a Super Bowl, the other comes as a prove it deal for a tackle that missed 36 games in 3 seasons. Seems like a steal when you break it down.

At guard?

Veach and Andy’s plan for LT will be fascinating. Not sure what options they have other than drafting a guy, re-signing DJ Humphries and/or Donovan Smith and seeing what can happen next year via FA/draft.

It’s one of those things that I wish I could be a fly on the wall just to hear some of those conversations. I imagine they’ll have something we aren’t thinking about or considering that they get done.

The only outside the box option would be to trade someone like Trey or George for a LT, and I don’t know who would do that, or which one we could move for a return like that.

Other than that, it’s probably a combo of a stop-gap FA LT and rookie (like last year and hope it works better), OR we overpay for an okay FA option.

It also requires us to find a team with a LT that we'd want, a need that we can fill by trade, and willing to trade with the Chiefs filling a need that makes the Chiefs better.

The OL is currently weaker than the one that got wrecked in the SB, but the offseason is already a success. Lol

Find a competent LT and it’s immediately better.

I just can’t believe that some combination of the available options won’t be better than Caliendo at LG. He was terrible.
