Great hire for them. Ben Johnson is putting together a great staff.

Yeah if Caleb can reel in the accuracy I expect them to soon contend and perhaps make the playoffs.

Agreed, he's a great addition as a RB coach

Position coach is where he belongs, he's just not an OC or HC

Was a pretty damn good OC for us.

I like to think he turned Mahomes into a man.

Da Bears.

Titty Meat 02-01-2025 06:28 PM

Thought he wasn't a HC because waaaycism come to find out he wasn't even good enough to be a OC at UCLA

Come on man lets be honest here, he was basically Reids glorified gopher

Eric relayed orders from the boss, and gave fiery talks

That’s a big fall from grace. The push to make him a HC just never got traction with the NFL clubs and now the time has passed.

What’s the primary reason? I’ve read it all and don’t know what to believe.

Rainbarrel 02-01-2025 06:30 PM

Vikings, Packers, Lions, Bears, EB. Oh My!

Hoover 02-01-2025 06:41 PM

Good hire.

EB is a good coach. Hell of a RB Coach.

Maybe being a lower level coach is where he belongs, and anything else is just too much for him. As Clint Eastwood once famously said, a man's got to know his limitations.

Look, back when people were arguing for or against EB's case for a head coaching job, there were extreme arguments on both sides. A few nutsos thought EB was calling most of the plays. And you had the exact opposite as well where some people thought he was a complete puppet empty suit who served way more as a mascot than he did a coach.

Calling a coordinator a gofer just because he doesn't call the plays is ignoring all of the coaching, teaching, and prep that a coordinator does on a football team. It's reducing the duties and responsibilities to like 5% of the job and saying, "Well, because he didn't do that 5%, he did nothing." And it's honestly saying that EB had more power and say within the organization when he was a position coach than when he was the OC. At least as position coach, the only orders he took was what plays to teach. The rest was completely up to him.

Be reasonable, man. EB did a lot. Did just as much as Nagy, Childress, Doug, or any of his Philly OCs.

It’s always been fishy to me that Nagy and Pederson had no problems getting head coaching gigs but Beinemy did not.

But none of us have any idea how good/bad these guys interview and what exactly they do behind Reid.

I’ll just say that some of the guys hired ahead of Beinemy were complete jokes.

I'll give you this, he didn't do any more or less for us than all of those other guys

Because, again... its always been Andy Reid, then all of the other talking meatsticks in a lacky role

Yep. It's pretty clear at this point he's never going to get a head coaching job so there wouldn't be any reason not to bring him back unless they just don't see use for him.

I think he was lucky to get a coaching job again.
