You can't look at him like a modern day 3B. The Mike Schmidt and George Brett generation changed the position forever. When Mr. Impossible was playing, there was maybe two 3B in 70 years (Eddie Mathews, Ron Santo) that had the type of career slugging stats at the position that we are accustomed to now. He was a well above-average hitter for his position when you put it into context. |

Mr. Orioles as he was known. Gonna miss him. He was supposed to throw out the first pitch this weekend to celebrate 40 years since our last World Series in 1983. I got to meet Brooks once when i was a kid, he shook my hand... one of the nicest PEOPLE ever.

That '71 team was unbelievable. Earl Weaver was a sight to behold when he came out to argue, which he did often. ROFL

Thought this thread was about your mom, TBH.

The 67' Orioles? Or celebs in general? |
On the palm of his gamer glove he would etch “E 5”.
Saw him play several times in Municipal and Royals stadium. The O’s were just a machine in those days. The Royals, in early expansion days, lost the first 16 or so games played against the Orioles. Man, they were just a good solid club all around. |
RIP to one of the all-time greats
|
It was hard to hit a shot past him, he sucked them all up!
Saw him play a lot in Municipal! |
I initially read this as "Brooke Pryor".
|
I swear his card was in every Topps pack I opened in the 70’s. RIP
