But seriously... I think it just kind of happened.

Kind of like "The Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League are my favorite football team." Somebody started it, and multiple latched on.

I seem to remember someone spelling Veach as Veech or calling him Brent instead of Bret, and in typical CP fashion, it took off from there.

But I could be wrong.

I think GBlowfish called him Burt Valanch of something to that effect in one of his Ten Things

I also remember someone called him Burt Veach, thinking that was his first name.

That one might even predate this place. It was all the rage on Angel boards of the distant past that I used to frequent. Circa about 1999-2003.
