Defense has little room for error because the offense is so inept.

At least we somehow managed to slow the run down after the first half (really after that first quarter or so). |

He made some stupid **** up's with Houston in coverage, but his defense again came through.
Outside of the Jarvis Williams coverage sack, Chris Jones was the only player up front who got a pressure on Big Ben and it was on the first play of the game. The defense wasn't the problem last night. |

Rush 4 in the biggest play of the game.
Sutton is a ****ing idiot, and his players aren't worth a ****, either. |

It's insanity. You have a hobbled Rape yet they sat back in coverage most of the night. Yes, they held the Steelers to 18, but damn, you have to force that last play. |

But still...18 points? 19.4 points per game allowed on the season? Led league in Takeaways (or extra opportunities for the offense to score points)? A case could be made the Chiefs should've been 15-1 (no way around that Pitt loss and that's on Sutton and the defense)....a case could be made that, defensively, the Chiefs were good enough to be playing the Patriots next weekend. When you do your job and suppress an offense as volatile and potent as the Steelers only for the other side of the ball to fail......again....and AGAIN....perhaps its time to reevaluate the situation. Understand....I know he won't resign. The OP is more an expression of my own frustration at what could have been if the Chiefs had an offense capable of.....something.....when it mattered most. |
I think Sutton did a fine job and the D was okay and did enough to win a very close game. Got to remember we've had some significant Dline injuries this year and DJ being out really hurt too.
Man, Ford and Tamba just didn't bring it in this game but then again the Steelers were doing there fair share of holding THAT WAS NOT CALLED. And Huston must not be anywhere near 100% or he has just fallen off the deep end. Got to have your stud OLB who makes the huge bucks make a play or two and he didn't even come close. |
What in the **** is wrong with you people?
Does anybody realize that after losing DJ we were practically playing a safety at LB for the month of December? We lost 2 starting DL, two starting ILB (one being a pro bowler), and we had a starting #2 CB who was picked up off the trash pile in midseason throughout the season. This is after an offseason where Dorsey shorthanded Sutton by not filling obvious gaps through free agency, while Andy Reid continued to stack his offense with weapons. The month of December was a limp for the defense. We were getting gashed in the running game. I thought we'd give up 30 points to Pittsburgh and I wouldn't have blamed us. Good lord, people. Sutton didn't coach a perfect game. But he had an effective enough performance against an elite offense given what we had. It was more than enough to win. I don't know in what world anyone believed that a defense forced to start Ramik Wilson and Terrance Smith with a bunch of rotational 2nd and 3rd string DEs we were going to have much success against Leveon Bell and the 2nd best pass protecting OL in the NFL. |
No situational pass rush when it's needed the most.
