Man up, they don't need you. They probably have a hundred people like you applying for the position. If you want the job be there on their time. If you ask to reschedule, they will assume you are too busy for them.
They don't owe you squat

Agreed with what's been said.

If it's a field where you are sorely needed, you could probably reschedule. But in an industry where getting your foot in the door is huge, don't take a chance.

Nice going kid.

Thanks !

You made the right decision.

Great decision. The other thing a lot of companies are doing is virtual interviews. You could have asked if that was an option.

If you have a chance to mention you were so excited at the opportunity you cut your trip home short for the interview, it wouldnt hurt.

also it might be good to mention that you were glad to find an earlier flight back to be able to make it to this interview. It would show that you really wanted it.

This is a fantastic idea.

I'm thrilled about this opportunity for you, C3. You're going to knock em' dead this week.

You hold no cards, have no power, if you want the job, show up on time.

If you want the internship (and I know you do), you see them when they want to see you. This is more important than winter break and you will regret it.

Man, I totally disagree.

I hired a few back before I retired, but it was a huge corporation that many wanted to work for.

I would have just moved on from anyone wanting to reschedule. Always had plenty of choices.

You made the right decision.

Good luck.

cosmo20002 01-05-2017 09:04 PM

You can't go wrong getting your ass to the interview when they want you there.
However, they are hiring college students for an internship. They should ****ing know that college students are often out of town during winter break, even though some might be within driving distance.
Seems like kind of a dick move by them to not consider (or not care) about this kind of stuff.

Ken Bone 01-05-2017 09:05 PM

Good luck op, I hope you get the position that you're seeking.

With that being said... Walk Chalk!

Pasta Little Brioni 01-05-2017 09:11 PM

I wouldn't hire you, if you asked to reschedule in this situation
