I killed Doyle Hargraves with a lawnmower blade.

There's been a few movies I've been surprised by you not seeing.

Why do they call water pills, water pills?

My takes, and taste, in movies is even better than my politics.

Here's my take on Sling Blade. I actually liked it the first time I saw it. All the main actors were good. But I saw it again years later on cable, and it bugged me--I'm sick of this little mini sub-genre that exists--the dumb/mentally disabled/reeruned guy who is actually brilliant.

It's supposed to be so moving that the one who seems to be least intelligent among us is actually the smartest, the deepest, most philosophical. Carl is a dim-witted child in a man's body, yet spouts off these funny, poignant, deep thoughts about life and love. It's insulting, really.

However, Sling was 100X better than I am Sam with Sean Penn.

I can see that. Still a much better movie than he-man. And who decided that was the best scene from the natural? The natural was a good movie

I never thought Karl was smart, let alone brillant. He was principled. That's different. You don't have to know a lot of information and philosophy to know in your bones how people should treat each other.

MoF, a smarter man would've figured out how to cut Doyle out of the picture without killing him and returning to jail.

LMAO @ Dallas

He wanted to go back to the nervous hospital though. The freaks inside were less frightening than the freaks outside...other than Frank anyway.

Karl?

Doyle, my bad. I relied on the post above calling him that.

But Karl is Karl Childers, Billy Bob's main character

BlackHelicopters 03-09-2014 08:13 AM

Never have seen any of these.

Rausch 03-09-2014 09:02 AM
