On opening day, the Chiefs came out with a win. Despite having only 45 net yards passing, the Chiefs won with a strong rushing game at 166 yards, with Ted McKnight scoring twice on runs of 1 yard and 70 yards. The defense registered 4 sacks and 2 turnovers, and knocked QB Bert Jones out of the game. The Colts committed 14 penalties. |
