This is a real hard game to deal with emotionally. Talk about a glass that is both half empty and half full. On one hand the entire division lost, so we didn't lose any ground. But at the same time we wasted an enormous golden opportunity to gain some extremely important ground, and an opportunity to do it *away from Arrowhead*. I really hope we don't regret this one as much as I think we might a couple of months from now. Maybe in the end it won't matter, and 8 or 9 games will win the division. I certainly don't think we'd be in the mix for a bye or anything like that, but man-oh-man this could have been such an enormous victory...

(And on the glass half full side, at least I can still realistically talk about the division race in mid-October...)

Broncos lost to Jets: um... I hate to say it, since I'm a Patriots fan and hate them, but the Jets aren't a lesser team. Annoying little ****ers just refuse to lose.

Two out of three. My bad.

But, the really good news is that we are only going to get better. We're extremely young at key positions.

This was a heartbreaking loss (thanks refs), but I can't remember being this encouraged after a defeat ... not for a long, long time.

Keep working on the defense, Romeo. And Weis, you run Casspipe's ass out of town and we'll be competitive for years.

Is there any way that Weis is doing this on purpose to us on 3rd and short? Putting the game in Cassel's hands continually? There were rumors that he really wanted Clausen during the draft.... Maybe he keeps doing it and says, look, it's not my fault that the QB didn't execute on these key plays when I put the ball in his hands. Find me a better damn QB!

I'd hate to think he's sacrificing immediate success for the chance to get another QB. I think Cassel will continue to prove himself inadequate with or without Weis's help. If Weis was doing what you theorize, that would indicate a pretty startling lack of competitive nature for an NFL coach.

It hurts more cause we're in the driver's seat when we weren't expecting to be. I was hoping for 1 win out of the first 5 before the beginning of the season.

I figured maybe 2 if we beat SD, but I wasn't thinking we would. I thought we would lose to SF, Indy, and Houston, and I wasn't even positive about the Browns being a win.

We really did come out of the gates flying, which we have to be proud of. Let's just turn this quarter around and go 3-1 again. Jacksonville, Buffalo, and Raiders are the next in our sights.

Week 6 in the NFL, we have a 2 game lead on all the other teams in the AFC West. No frikking way anyone on this board thought that would happen before the season started. Life ain't so bad for us Chief fans in 2010.

Yep. This loss still blows. At least I'm being pissed cause we were in it and not cause Herm just sucked as a coach and we only ran/ran/pass/punted all the time...

It was a bad call, but shit happens. We're back at Arrowhead next week for the win.

I agree. I figured this team would be 2-3 or 3-2 after this game, and while I am disappointed in the loss, we are still in a good position. However, the next two home games are now much more critical, we need to win both or the season may begin to fall into a serious tailspin.

Never fear. I have kidnapped a hot chick, blindfolded her ass, and forced her to pray to Aqua Buddha. That always works.

I have to admit that this Chiefs team is quite a bit better than I thought they'd be at this point. I'm not looking forward to the game at Melonhead.

Pretty good summary. We're by no means in panic mode. These last two losses have just been tough because both games were well within our reach.
