The question is when do we get to use them for online fantasy football..
|
Not a chance in hell.
|
I will put them on for background noise as I assemble the party shak this fall....

The idea of another league is to cash in when people crave it. On any given weeknight, you can flip to ESPN and watch a college football game or just watch an extremely popular TV show and get your football fix by actually going to a live game on the weekend. |

As i mentioned already, they have tried spring time/summer football numerious times with past leagues and failed. I think they decided to be different this time and go with the fall. I honestly think this league would be wise to try and sign Vick to help create some "buzz" |
The USFL was doing reasonably well with spring football, and died only when it tried to go head-to-head with the NFL in the fall. And back then, you couldn't watch 60,000 college games on a given weeknight.
The XFL was a complete cluster**** that still might have survived if it hadn't been so reliant upon NBC. Honestly, this league makes the XFL look sensible. |
I think having the league's season run in the fall is a big mistake. Have it in the spring, when NFL fans are thirsting for anything with a pointy-ended ball. Trying to have a new league go directly against the NFL is business suicide. I don't care if their games happen on the "off" days for the NFL; we wait, like junkies, for training camp and preseason and then the real games to start, and I doubt most of us will turn our attention even fleetingly to a "fake NFL" at the same time. Move it to February-through-July and you've got a deal.

I doubt I'll watch the UFL, except maybe once, out of curiousity. |

For DIEHARD football fans, you watch any time football is on... PERIOD! Don't be blinded by the thought of it being a gimmick. Take it for what it is, more football!
