Vermeil loaded us up with 40 year olds he couldn't say no to, and promptly got the hell out of dodge.

Seriously, DV's drafts may have been bad. But the conversations of late regarding our draft history as an organization are on target. I don't know how other teams have faired in the draft (percentage wise), but we have to be at or near the bottom in picks that actually wind up contributing on the field and it's been that way throughout Carl's tenure. That's a whole lot of player careers that have gone nowhere.

Herm didn't seem to have a problem dealing/fixing Vermeil's leftovers on defense.

I blame global warming.

Gruden did the same thing in Oakland, loaded up the team with over the hill players and then darted for a super bowl ready team ;)

I got my fingers crossed that some super bowl ready team has their sights on our current head coach.
