It will happen one day in both sports. I look forward to it.

I really don't. If they met in a bowl or the tourney somehow last year or this year, maybe there'd be something, but give it another 2 or 3 years and I don't think the excitement is going to be anywhere close to what you are expecting. Pretty soon the entire student body of both schools will have never attended a KU-MU game as a student, and a few years later almost all of the students will have never paid attention to such a game at all.

The Missouri-Kansas BS (which commonly manifests itself outside of college sports) is one of the reasons why I wish the Ozarks counties would break off and join Arkansas. I'd prefer to see those hatchets buried, and I don't care if it takes the death of a college sports rivalry to do it.

Yes, my team has provided me little to cheer for all these years.

wat no.

If anything, NWA over to maybe Jonesboro should tell the rest of the state to get ****ed at the same time the counties making up and south of the I-44 corridor in Missouri tells St. Louis and KC to get ****ed in turn.

So the news last night shows MIchael Sam getting a roaring ovation from the fans at the basketball game. Yes, the state which voted 70% in favor of banning gay marriage is suddenly convulsively screaming their approval at the gay man. The school which brought us "gay hawks", "Gay U", "Beware the Phag" is now the beacon of gay tolerance.

What was really striking on that news clip: the old fogeys in the crowd standing in approval. It was truly a Holy-Shit moment watching that, because you know a good chunk of them probably voted for the gay marriage law. The cognitive dissonance shown by the Mizzouchebags is just stunning.

Quit your bitching. Beakers and Kansas were well represented by Fred Phelps and his crew.

If nothing else, we need a highway from Springfield to NWA. It gets pretty annoying to cut across to Joplin and then turn south. That being said, we'll never get it because the state politicians could not care less about the Ozarks.

Wait a minute...

You're trying to tell me a college campus has a more liberal bent than the state population at large?

Alert the press! We've got a story, here!!!

People who oppose same-sex marriage for reasons other than irrational bigotry might well applaud the courage of a man willing to risk millions by publicly acknowledging that he's gay. They can also be proud of the tolerance and sensitivity shown by both the university and the community.

What other reasons are there to oppose gay marriage besides bigotry?

I have refrained from posting in this thread due to the high number of butt hurt KU fans screaming, "You ain't shit, but here I am posting on an MU thread". That being said, I always loved the rivalry. I was at Arrowhead when MU beat Ressing and the Jayhawks. You are right after several years the student body won't care, but I contend that it wouldn't take much to ignite the hate back up. MU/KU was one of the very, very few rivalries in the country that is founded in actual history. We hated each other way before football was even though of. This is coming from an MU Fan living in Kansas (Is that simular to a gay thats still in the closet)
