I enjoyed it enough to knock back a four pack while grilling last night. |
I was fortunate enough to finally try Two Hearted Ale at Q39 in Kansas City a couple weeks ago. It was outstanding on tap. I bought a four pack on the way out of town, and really should have bought more. I ran through the four pack this weekend.

Another one I got my hands on up there that I can get down here in Texas/Louisiana is Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. Super good, but IMO it's pretty heavily spiced. Takes away from any natural pumpkin taste a bit.

The coffee porter test brew I had at BLVD answered my question of what Surly's Coffee Bender would be like if it were a porter. Which could be dangerous to my wallet.

O'Fallon Brewery, also out of the STL area makes a much better Pumpkin IMO. |

Yeah, I had a friend of my wife order me a Schlafly Pumpkin while out one night. I didn't care for it because of the heavy spice but played it off not to be rude. Waitress came around while I was in the can and my wife told her to just bring me what I was having. Didn't go over well.

I loved Schlafly Pumpkin the first couple years it came out, but they changed something... letting it sit in the fridge a while helps, but I'm all about Southern Tier Warlock and Crown Valley Pumpkin Smash.
Speaking of Schlafly though, after opening another disappointing Boulevard Imperial Stout (tart cherry), opened a Schlafly Bourbon Stout... delicious. |
