It more or less sounds to me like he used you like a woman would use a man for financial reasons....you likely gave him some sort of clues that he could do that and get away with it.

I would suggest not doing anything that involves finances unless a ring is on finger. Normally somebody gets screwed over.

You haven't experienced enough women to develope one.
