I’ve told several people prove your faith on the NFL is rigged by betting your life savings on KC to win the SB. Easy money eh.

Nah. You don't think this team is any ****ing good. They can't beat Buffalo. They're washed.

BlackOp 01-23-2025 04:44 PM

Bills dealing with a lot of banged up starters in their secondary....bad time to be gimpy/slow in that department.

You couple that with very limited game tape on how KC plans on utilizing the Brown/Worthy combo...probably the real story-line going into this match-up. Those are two very fast dudes...one of which was torching them in the last meeting.

If they have to trot out back-ups...who might or might not know what KC has dialed up...could be interesting

It seems clear to me that...
...they tend to shut it down at times (like you said, they don't continue going to the same well/same weakness over and over and over)
...given the above, what they do run isn't always polished.
...Mahomes, outside of those things, also struggled this season
...they do rolll out things they haven't run all season (and yeah, seemed like the Bills also did this against the Chiefs last postseason), but these aren't always magical guaranteed touchdown plays (except corndog).

It's still football, it's still hard. They probably make it harder than it should be in the regular season, but it's always come together when it matters the most.

This is an EXCELLENT assessment. I totally agree.

RaidersOftheCellar 01-23-2025 04:46 PM

"Third downs and the red zone are always crucial, and with the Chiefs ranking third in third-down conversions this season (47.9%) but down in 24th in the red zone (52.9%), they will be once again this week. Buffalo’s defense has allowed a 44.1% conversion rate, which ranks 28th, and allowed KC to convert on five of 10 third downs in the regular season.

Chiefs were actually 1st in 3rd down conversion rate (minus week 18).

crispystl 01-23-2025 04:49 PM

[QUOTE=pugsnotdrugs19;17929703]

I don't think Buffalo can remotely run with the speed guys. Once they have to commit extra help to the cause, you're telling me they'll handle Kelce and Hopkins underneath sprinkled with one of the fast guys running drag/speed outs? [QUOTE=pugsnotdrugs19;17929703]

Then we can also ram Hunt up their ass. It's predicated on softening them up with the deep shot though.

Interesting regarding Chenal, because I've heard multiple talking heads say that KC didn't have a spy for Allen in that game. Leo only played in 31 snaps (42%).

2) They were ensuring he'd be available for this game.

It surely to goodness isn't because JuJu is that much better of a blocker that they feel he just has to be out there that much. Guess time will tell. I don't think the screens are the way to attack this defense anyways.

They need to be challenged to cover our guys. They won't be able to.

Does anyone know how many snaps we ran the ball with Juju in?

On Allen’s final TD, it was Karlaftis that pushed up too far, and he wasn’t able to reach Allen when he took off, eventually in the end zone. This cannot not happen this week. I think George has another big game.

Sports Illustrated: Chiefs win

Iain MacMillan says: "I have been saying all season the Chiefs haven't been as good as their record and calling them "frauds," but it's time to wave the white flag. I was wrong. Sometimes, you need to look past some of the numbers and while one side may have better metrics in certain areas, the Chiefs find ways to win big games time and time again. Remember, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity. I will no longer be doing that, it's time to join the dark side.

"Not only that, but I have zero faith in the Bills' defense. I bet against them last week due to how bad their defensive numbers are, but they were saved by the Ravens coughing up the ball three teams and the Bills were still a dropped two-point conversion away from having the game tied late despite sporting a +3 turnover differential.

"The Buffalo defense has been one of the worst in the NFL in the second half of the season, including ranking 22nd in opponent success rate and 24th in opponent dropback EPA since Week 10. The Chiefs will hand the Bills yet another postseason loss.

"Pick: Chiefs -1.5 (-115)"

70% of the money is on the Bills...one of the most important details nobody is talking about.

One of the rare times...possibly the first that gives Mahomes/KC free reign to score at will in the post-season. No going dark for portions of the game to make the numbers work.

It just feels like too much to overcome.

Reading the tea leaves...I have to agree. There is a degree or randomness but all signs say they roll.

I'm very interested in seeing Mahomes operate, unfettered, without the constraints of navigating a point spread. Usually it's a box of about 5 points...they can score as much as they want on Sunday. It's never happened in the play-offs...as far as I know...that the money is all on their opponent and only a 1.5 point differential...it usually the exact opposite.

I wont be surprised if KC puts up 38...

Now watch...it'll be a 17-14 slogfest. Ha.

I don't have any comebacks. I did say at the Thanksgiving table when we went around and said what we were thankful for that it should only take me about 13 seconds. But not really a comeback.

I do deal with a lot of Bills fans in person. The thing that annoys them the most is when I treat them like the second class NFL citizens that they are.

Because football isn't basketball. Basketball is the only sport I've ever seen where a team truly can flip a switch and just buzzsaw their opponents. And even THAT'S only possible because of the 'best of' series format.

But in a win or go home scenario, I just don't think it's possible to 'turn it on' when you need it. You have it or you don't.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the Chiefs ARE just that good.

That's just an awfully big mental hurdle to ask people to clear.

Dude...they were 15-1 and beat every AFC playoff team except the Bills...and looked disinterested/uninspired while doing it.

Yes..they are that good. They just turn it up a notch when they need to.

The defense just throttled the Texans when the game became close towards the end...they couldn't do shit. It was kind of amazing...like a flick of a switch. I haven't seen a team be able to morph like that...

The game last week definitely had the "play with your food" vibe...Brown/Hopkins had 0 catches.

It's deceptive...you kind of feel like the game was close ...then KC wins by twice their score...and you go...oh, I guess it wasnt.

If the Brady Patriots went 15-1, were 98% healthy, mostly rested, at home, playing against an okay defense that isn’t good on the road with several guys dinged up, and oh yeah had beaten that opponent 3 straight times in the playoffs…

Would the Media be rushing to bury them like this?

I’m sticking with me theory that “Chiefs are good and that’s why they win” is boring and would kill viewership.
