That's a pretty aggressive take. Could be right, especially in year 1 (remember Reek was a RB).

But it would be a hell of a thing if he had a better first 5 years than Reek. He was incredible.

Kiimo 07-01-2024 08:33 AM

Well his ceiling is Jerry Rice and his floor is Jerry Rice so I don't see how he shouldn't have Jerry Rice numbers as a rookie

Why? Hollywood and Worthy give this offense something it absolutely did not have last year: downfield ability.

I think we are primed to see a big year from Hollywood Brown. Like 1k+ yards and 8+ TD’s kinda season. Rice l think will be better this year and build off what he did last year.

Worthy and Wiley are in the perfect spot to me. Kelce, Hollywood and Rice are the top guys. The 2 rookies are complimentary. 4th receiving option at best which works great for them.

It’s not gonna be 2018 bc I think we’ll see a similar type of offense as 2022

MahomesMagic 07-01-2024 10:36 AM

I really like Hollywood in this offense. Kelce and Rice allows Worthy to just be an extra that puts that extra strain on defenses.

I do think defenses will quickly go back to shell coverages and make us be efficient as in 2022 and we know how to do that.

Last year we just didn't have enough firepower to run our offense.

A lot of that depends on how much time he misses. A 4-6 game suspension is a real possibility right??

Yes, but he’s been in the lab most of this offseason working with Mahomes and Co.

I’m sure he’ll get some playing time in preseason as well. I don’t see him getting off to a slow start even if he missed 6-8 games.

BWillie 07-01-2024 11:29 AM

I expect there to be some growing pains while Rice serves his suspension. Once he comes back and stresses the middle of the field these guys are really gonna fly.

Kiimo 07-01-2024 11:34 AM

I'm sure he'll take a while to get going and then the same people that flipped out on Rice and Karlaftis will do the same shit again blaming Veach for a bad pick

(no comment on the ones that didn't like how Skyy was progressing though)

People flipped out about Rice? He was great day 1. The only complaint was they wouldn't take the training wheels off of him and kept forcing Skyy and Toney down our throats.

Actually, I think he has a fumble problem. I know he fumbled at least once in the Super Bowl that we got away with because it fell right in to the hands of Watson, I think.

I can't wait to see Worthy on the field. Looking through his highlights, it looks like he didn't often use 100% of his top-end speed, for whatever reason. I'm looking forward to seeing it unleashed.

First play of the first preseason game send Brown, Worthy, Mecole and Rees-Zammit on streaks, Kelce Rice and Wiley on crosses underneath.

He'll hit the ground running. The opportunities won't be many at first but he'll make the most of them. I don't know how close he'll get to that ceiling but he'll pick this up quick. It's perfect for him.

Brown, Rice, Worthy, Kelce. It's gonna' be a damned good offense. We've already been in 4 of the last 6 SB's and we're just now building a super bowl team...

I'm looking forward to seeing Worthy run the post out of the slot with Hollywood running a deep hook while Kelce and Rice run crossers. That could be an 80+ yard TD. ****ing cheat code.

I'm stoked that he's marrying a world class athlete. Its speaks to the lifestyle that he's going to live. Think he's going to be out ****ing around with the boys? Nope. Look at how Mahomes trains, and it has to help that his wife is so into fitness and training herself.

QB play definitely hurt him and AD Mitchell. He would have had far bigger numbers had he not had poor QB play from Ewers and Murphy (now at Duke).

The tape that would show ewers poor play we would not have access to. (I highly doubt there’s an every route ran by worthy tape available online)

I thought he did some really nice stuff during draft season. Not first round good but I liked him better than Mckonkeys limited tape in a lot of ways. I thought he was a mid second guy but could have seen us reaching on him ala CEH if the board broke a certain way.

As far as ewers goes.. The deepest QB class in recent memory just got drafted. He was probably the 15th best QB or something last year and left a lot on the table. His NCAA rankings are just because he's the most proven out of what's left. I don't play video games so I don't know how often they will update but if he plays like he did last year others will quickly rise above him in season.

I mean I haven't watched him but is he great or just a manning? Just having that manning forehead makes you smarter than everyone else playing HS ball.

Kiimo 07-17-2024 08:41 AM

He's the #1 overall recruit. You get a boost with a Manning name, but not that big of a boost

Quote:

Possesses a pure throwing motion with one of the quickest releases we've seen from a high school quarterback prospect in recent cycles. Those mechanics pair with a strong arm to make Manning one of the more natural and accurate passers in the 2023 cycle. Has the ability to carve up opposing defenses when kept clean inside the pocket. Has good field vision with the ability to find open receivers downfield. Touts polished footwork and the capability of picking up yards in scramble situations. Has filled out a big frame over his high school career, entering his senior year as the most physically developed top quarterback in the 2023 cycle. Also carries a substantial mental load for a high school quarterback with the responsibility of setting protections. Added velocity as a senior showing improved zip on passes. Turned in an efficient senior season as a passer, throwing for 35 touchdowns against two interceptions at over 10 yards per attempt. Did not play behind a great offensive line, but also took a high number of sacks. Can improve the overall reaction to pressure. Remains a projection against an elevated level of competition given his lack of exposure in neutral settings and varying competition over his high school career.
Quote:

Arch Manning reminds of his younger uncle, particularly as a passer. The quick releases and arm talent appears to be similar at the same stage. The developmental arcs are similar as well, as both played football and basketball at Isidore Newman. Eli is a bit taller than Arch at the moment, while Arch is more physically developed and mobile at the same stage.

If I'm a Texas fan I'm saying playing him right now for fear he might transfer if you don't. I don't really follow this stuff though, just admittedly

So there is real life and video games. They are different. The Colorado Buffaloes are a Prime example. They are highly rated in NCAA25 and were 4 and 8 last year. Hype sells video games. Watch some actual games and you will see his QB was not good. Maybe this year will be better but I doubt it.

KC legit has the best medical/training staff. Not worried at all about Worthy.

He plays and moves like his Grandfather Archie

Worthy a cross country runner before sprinter. I bet he walks in with the best cardio on the team which is huge cuz Andy’s practices and use of receivers requires cardio. Tyreek had insane cardio too which is nuts with his muscle mass

Freshman. But we’ll see. If ewers sucks as much as they say on chiefsplanet the home of Texas scouting experts then Archie will surly supplant him mid season. Archie is extremely highly touted

Dunerdr 07-17-2024 02:08 PM

So we all agree Arch Manning ****ing sucks.

What I'm confused about is why someone who was as high ranked of a recruit as Manning would put up with a redshirt sophomore season.

I'm sure he'll be pimped by the media for the next 20 years...

Kiimo 07-17-2024 03:21 PM

Man we're one fanbase to talk about already being sick of Arch Manning who is a freshman in college lol

I hope he gets drafted by the Jets just to **** with Bills fans

I'm down.

Or if he's any good, I hope he goes to the AFC North so the Ravens and Bengals can keep bitching and whining about how tough their division is

Starting to think the Tank Dell comps look pretty accurate, which makes sense considering Tank Dell looked a lot like DeSean Jackson as a rookie.

Worthy is turbo charged Tank Dell since he’s about 2 steps faster

He's had a hell of a camp. Probably the best of all the rookies. I think he contributes way more than anyone expects this year.

Yep. Problem is both are small framed and play like they're not. Tank already got splattered last season. Hope Worthy can take a hit.

I came here to see if this had been posted yet. Man, allergies.

Also, does his mom have a husband? Or SO? I am asking because, man, she is intelligent and beautiful, and her son plays for the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs

Worthy is so much more talented then Tank ****ing Dell

Oh, I dont know about that. Maybe so, but even if he is just as talented, I think its a good comparison. Worthy is faster for sure, but Tank Dell is very quick, with great vision, so he plays faster than he is. He's dynamic and makes things happen. His problem was he played at the University of Houston before they were in the Big 12. Had he played in a P 5 conference, he would have gone much earlier. The dude is a game changer. I think Worthy will be one also. One other thing, in addition to both being gifted physically, they're both very smart. That bodes well for success in the NFL.

Kiimo 08-10-2024 08:25 AM

Why not both

No sense pretending Tank Dell shouldn't be on everyone's fantasy draft radar

Worthy is better. Trust me

Bump 08-10-2024 02:32 PM

I'm on the hype train, Worthy breaks the Chiefs rookie receiving yards record which was just broken last season by Rice!

No catches and no injuries...

Then there's Hollywood. :(
