Angel's Envy.....soooooo overrated.

Good call.

I’m hearing Eagle Rare is also supposed to be getting more allocated treatment above being fairly hard to find here.

Agreed on Angels Envy. I think it’s fine if it’s a $40 bottle. Not a lot going on with it’s light flavors but could do worse.

The Rye I do enjoy though. Rum cask finish adds some sweetness that kicks in after the upfront rye spice.

Angels Envy Rye is around $80 by me, so I just had a glass at dinner one night. I really enjoyed it, but I can't justify that price tag.

Its ****ing ridiculous how hard Buffalo Trace is to find now. With that said I was able to buy the last bottle at Walmart tonight.

CVS has it always in IN.

You enjoy that. I'm going shopping in a bit, we had tornado warnings for 3 hours tonight, the stores closed. My daughter sent me a $50 bill toward a nice bottle*, a two Montecristo Churchill Añejados, and a Pelican 2 cigar case for fathers day. My other daughter's is rumored to be here tomorrow

Buffalo Trace and 1792 were my choices. My SO looked at the garage door and rolled the kitchen's office chair out there. That means she's going to join in :D:D:D:D:D:D D She's a fun, open minded drunk:hmmm::hmmm:

I'm not a huge tequila guy other than margaritas but it was good. It's one of the few tequilas I've had that I can actually sip instead of pound in a shot. Those prices you found are secondary market. No way of pay $100 but under 30 is a good deal. The bourbon barrel gives it a more pleasant flavor than most tequila imho

Speakeasy liquors in Marion, IL. Their name is on the other side of the coin

cooper barrett 06-16-2019 09:37 AM

that is a custom barrel where they buy a barrel and the distillers age the T in in it and then bottle 240 bottles for sale. $27 is a deal.

https://robbreport.com/food-drink/sp...quila-2809962/

now you know.

cooper barrett 06-21-2019 01:24 PM

I got my first bottle of Buffalo Trace and some Robt.Evans and did a quick taste test

round one chilled evens, vague flavors, smooth but after burn

Buffalo Trace. smooth, nice and smooth, and then a funky, yet not bad finish w/o the afterburn

going out for beers, as I am hour ahead of most of you, I got off a noon....

So it's 2:30 there beer thirty here.

I knew booker, and he could distill barrel proof in the 130's but could,t sell over 129.

I met him on a Kentucky scenic train, after sitting in his car during an interview he paid for my hotel cause i had to be helped into and out of a cab.I am not a wimp, he fed me a lot of booze. Next morning he bought brunch at his hotel, I had NO hangover. One of the most straightforward men I have ever met.

I get a care package from Beam Suntory marketing but the Japanese who own them now are not very nice... compared to Booker.

Buffalo Trace is hard to find? Good lord. It's about as silly as shops or secondary market sellers price gouging on Weller Special Reserve. That stuff is awful and people are buying it all up just because it says Weller on the bottle.

About $23 here for BT. The bottles I listed are in the $20-30 range. So $+/-5, which is similar price points to me.

BT was 21-23 a bottle in KC where in Lees Summit are you finding it? Its dryed up every where I have looked last I saw it was 30.00 in Sams and now they are OOS and cant say when it will be back. If you know me you know half the fun of bourbon at least for me is finding a good bottle and a great price. Very rare you will see me pay 60.00 or more on a bourbon Bakers is an exception I will buy it over bookers 9 out of 10 times. Wellers Old Antique 107 used to be reasonable till people went nuts on it. Wellers special reserve isnt as bad as you paint it but its not affordable Pappy's as some so called bourbon experts painted it.

Going off memory. I basically drink bourbon and have 30+ bottles of it. I know going rates for prices at a place like Total Wine, which I frequent a few times a month. Go to specialty places for the private barrel picks.

Costco has the best price on 1.75 L Larceny about 30 bucks cant be beat for cocktails or an after work sipper. Beats Wild Turkey 101 which is hard to find under 40.

Speaking of Wild Turkey anyone tried the Rare Breed? I see it all the time and have been tempted.
