He's a slightly above average pass blocking guard. I believe I said 'top 25', did I not? That seems to maybe be a little bit below where they have him, but not by much. As previously noted - he was OFTEN part of the problem last year w/r/t pass protection. If you're looking to focus on pass pro this offseason, you can't start by paying him $20+ million/season. |

I'm talking about him getting hurt and never being the same again this season. Nobody saw that coming, so the rest is just revisions history. |

Hoping that erratic running style won’t result in an injury probably isn’t wise. |

We all thought we had resolved the short yardage issues with Hunt, and were getting the explosive runs back with Pacheco, and we had our 3rd down in receiving back in Perine. The RB room was fine if he just returns as the same guy. |

Yes, the cap's gone up since Cosmi's deal, but I'd rather have Cosmi than Smith for this team. And he'll decline it. And I'd move on with life. Meanwhile he's going to get a bigger contract than Chris Lindstrom and he's not better at ANYTHING than Lindstrom is. Not even close in pass pro and not as good in the running game. He's nearer guys like Wyatt Teller and Damien Lewis who are making around $14 million/season than he is Chris Lindstrom or Landon Dickerson. Anything above $15 million/season is an overpay based on what he'd actually bring to the team. |
Nah.
Pacheco Steele Prince Ingram That was your RB room for OTAs and Preseason. Snagging up Perine after roster cutdowns was a nice salvage and Hunt was a nice redemption story for a little while there. |

Oh, and CEH was moping around being sad I guess,

Pacheco was coming into the season with alot of hype IIRC.
Injury zapped it, but they need to upgrade anyway. |
The problem with the RB room was a lack of explosive runs.
Even if you wanted to upgrade from Pacheco, that has NEVER been an issue with him as the starter. That's why I'm calling this revisionist history. |

Also, it's not 100% fact that Veach legitimately went after Josh Jacobs and was willing to pay what it would take to get him.
He may have been interested. That's all we really know for sure. |
