Aren’t we due for a “Beat the Detroit Lions” thread?

BleedingRed 09-05-2023 10:54 AM

What, they couldn't pick some of that intense talent from SNL?

Goddangit. Is that for real?

Shouldn’t the practice be just a walk through being so close to the game. ****!

A top 12-15 D seems a little optimistic.

Optimistic, indeed. As a Lions fan since like 1984, I'm not capable of having expectations like that. I think top 20 would be a more reasonable assessment, at least to start the year.

The biggest liabilities have been addressed, specifically the secondary whose best player was "overthrew the receiver". They upgraded both corners, and Joseph is really good at safety. Jerry Jacobs is serviceable until Moseley gets healthy.

The run defense was hit or miss, and the Carolina game was an anomaly during that final stretch. I trust the current LBs and DEs to handle their assignments, but the DTs are the biggest question marks right now.

Top 12-15 by the end of the year? Maybe. They were certainly trending upward with less talent last year. At this point I'm still like, "Just don't look like shit on national TV, and we can build from that", lol

He slipped on a piece of ice leaving the wet bar in post practice festivities. It was his own ice, he did it to himself.

To be fair, he said "Defense is much better than its record last year would indicate. Over the last 10 games points against went down to 21 per."

The Seahawks game was the 4th game of the season. Not making an argument one way or the other, just pointing that out.
