Patrick would feast on running underneath the coverage and making magic happen outside of the pocket. That style of play was overcoming a problem the Chiefs had for years.. a bad online.
To me it looks like both Patrick and the Chiefs have decided he will be a pocket passer instead. To make matters worse the oline still/again sucks and there is very little running back threat.
