Why do people keep saying Dorsey will be gone next year? I don't see him getting big money anywhere so its not like he should be that expensive. I'd say Tyson Jackson would be more likely to be gone because his contract is outrageous and I don't see them being able to renegotiate it anywhere close to the level matching his play. Dorsey seems to have had a bigger impact on our defense as well (by that I mean, when he's not playing our defense seems to play like shit). Dump Jackson and take Dorsey at a reasonable pay.
I'd be curious what would happen if they swapped Dorsey and Poe.
Hell with the way this season's going I'd just trot out crazy shit. Put T-Jax, Powe, Dorsey, and Poe on the line (with Bailey and Ripouita swapping in and out regularly namely on passing downs though), Houston, Belcher, and Hali the LBs, call DJ a strong safety and play him about like they were playing Berry his first year, and make Berry the FS. Try to get some aggression out of these guys, our defense plays like they're whacked out on Riddlin or something. They're already getting blown out so why not at least let them try to make plays so they can figure out what that's actually like. Instead of giving up points or letting the other team march down the field slowly eating up clock like they were the two previous years.

I don't agree. Right now, we are so shitty, that what I want to see is Poe develop. Powe is a stopgap. He's okay at playing an obsolete position, which is a 2-down 3-4 Nose Tackle. Poe's upside is that he can one day play the nose tackle and one day begin to learn the 5-technique, so he never has to leave the field.
I am not a fan of Pioli. But Poe was a great pick, and it's exactly the kind of gamble he hasn't made in years. Get Poe to learn the hard, important position first. Then begin to move him around the line.

I agree about Powe. I have no idea why this place has such a hardon for him. I don't think he's bad, but he's not the missing piece the defense needed, he's just a guy that's played ok in limited action in a limited role.
I wouldn't call Poe a great pick at all. Maybe in time and yes its far too early to really evaluate it but another Pioli reach so far.
