I think someone will take a flyer on Gordon before we pick next....

I said earlier that although Veach talked about how deep the RB class was, he hasn't appeared to be interested in grabbing anyone this time around..

Or maybe he is thinking there will be a post June 1sr release that has some value.

Is it really? I mean just look at what we've fielded in the past.

After what Reid and Veach said at the end of season pressers, yes, it kind of is.

Completely disagree with this post. We had to go sign Hunt off the couch and give an undrafted player carries. Also…Mahomes struggles were related to losing his top 2 receivers by week 4 all while dealing with the LT issues.

Maybe the Chiefs feel RB in this draft is deep enough that they can get one in the 7th?

We got Pacheco there.

Still available:

Damien Martinez
Brashard Smith
Ollie Gordon
Devin Neal
Raheim Sanders
Phil Mafah
LeQuint Allen

Considering this is a RB rich draft… to wait until the 7th round to presumably (?) address a position of need… don’t understand it.

uh no. We were 27th in YPC.

Lots of good talent still out there. Gonna be interesting to see who falls to 251.

Dunerdr 04-26-2025 01:09 PM

We’ve got a primary rb, a goal line guy and a guy with an alligator. We could use a complement to the room. I’d have like to have a Martinez that could take over down the road but it’s clear they’re shopping for other pieces. And it’s ok to be ok with that.

My dude. They waited till the 7th round to draft Pacheco.

Rode Spencer Ware and West at one point and dug McKinnon and Williams out of the trash can. Gave snaps to Shady and a spent Bell.

I'd beg to ****ing differ.

Mahomes propped our YPC as he averaged 5.7 per carry. Hunt and Pacheco were 3.6 and 3.7 respectively.

FloridaMan88 04-26-2025 01:11 PM

Just because they hit on a 7th round RB once… doesn’t mean that’s easily replicable… history suggests otherwise.

Yes. They also acknowledged that might not have been the best way to address RB, then went right back to it. That's why it's odd. They outright said the lack of a running game was a major problem and thus far have done **** all to address it.

And Mahomes had their second longest run of the season… 33 yards. The longest run was 34 yards.

That’s in the category of no WR’s catching a TD for an entire season-level absurd.

Dunerdr 04-26-2025 01:14 PM

We’ve got the same RB room as last year minus perine and plus Mitchell. A room that got us to a Super Bowl.

We’ve attacked the trenches, wisely, and added a weapon to an already solid WR room.

staylor26 04-26-2025 01:16 PM

If Pacheco is healthy and back to form, they'll be ok.

But I still think they'll get a RB we can get a little tiny bit excited about in the 7th.
