Regarding Starling:

Painful to look at the guys taken in the next ten picks after him:
Archie Bradley (tearing it up, though Bundy got all the attention from that draft)
Francisco Lindor (Mondesi, just 2 years olders)
Javier Baez (exploded last summer. SS with big-time bat)
Jose Fernandez (Cuban emigre is already in the majors)

The Royals were linked pretty heavily to Bradley before the draft.

It's only 7 games/28 PAs so far this year, but Starling is 2-for-26 with 0 XBHs, 2 BBs and 11 Ks.

I saw a tweet the other day that said the scouting reports on Starling are like "the soundtrack to a snuff film."

He was fine in Rookie ball last year, though. So cross your fingers.

Everybody knew Bubba was a boom or bust kinda guy. I was fine with taking him. We'll see.

I love the stadiums right where they are and I apologize for being from Kansas...I guess......well no.

Bubba Starling won't start hitting until we move the stadium downtown.

He's from Johnson County, y'know....

Is this gonna be like when we passed on Linecum and Kershaw for Hochevar?

RedDread 04-11-2013 12:19 PM

Jackson County footed the bill, they get first dibs on tickets and the stadium should stay right where it is. When Clay/Platte/Wyandotte/Johnson all pitch in, we'll put it smack dab in the middle.

WoodDraw 04-11-2013 12:19 PM

Who was the Bubba like guy we took in the official WORST DRAFT EVER? I can't remember the first name? Something Crosby...

Anyway, it was a stupid pick from day one. For every Beltran, you get a bunch of shitty players that do nothing.

Speaking as someone who never lived in KC and has always gone to the K driving either from rural north MO or CoMO, I love the location because it was easy to access off the interstates, and I never really cared about bars/restaurants before or after the game. I had a 2-hour drive and just wanted to get home.

I'm not able to see more than one game a year now, so I don't count, but I'd like to know the stats on how many folks from outside KC attend how many games a year.

I guess KC could do a light rail sytem like St Louie does if they build a downtown ballpark.

Flame away!!!

No falming here. Kansas City with its sprawl is built for a light rail system. Unfortunately, the powers that be that actually "run" the city don't know their asses from holes in the ground, and have shown they have no idea on how to get it donw, even though the ****ing populace voted to green light the project.

Poor vision by whoever planned the area AROUND Truman.

I still don't understand why they don't build the area up around the stadiums. There are plenty of woodland areas that can be made into destination places. Bad zoning, I'm guessing?

Roscoe Crosby was a two-sport star for Union High School, but injuries and tragedies robbed him of his athletic potential.

Through life's storms, Crosby has realized he has more to offer the world than hitting a ball or catching a pass, and he's looking to help troubled teens find their way.

Crosby is a behavioral modification specialist at AMIkids White Pines, a wilderness camp in Jonesville that partners with the Department of Juvenile Justice to transition troubled youth back home. Crosby is a counselor.

Kudos to him, I guess. Can't blame the kid for front office incompetence.
