I guess KC could do a light rail sytem like St Louie does if they build a downtown ballpark.

Flame away!!!

I'd kill for a Topeka-Lawrence-KC-St. Louis kind of light rail. I live in Lawrence, so I always have to leave work extra early to beat traffic on 70 to get to the stadium on time.

convince your brethren on the Kansas side.

Mass transit would do a lot for Kansas City, but Jackson County isn't going to pay for it all by itself.

Hey, there are merits to downtown and NOT downtown.

I like it where it is.

If you must have downtown baseball, move to St. Louis and become a Cardinal fan.

Enjoy all that parking in your empty stadium.

Mendoza is still starting Friday, but the Royals plan to skip his start next week since they have 2 off days.

Royals Review did a little retrospective on the building of the Truman Sports Complex. I did not know that the other proposed site for the stadium is where the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts now sits.

Tell me for one second that would not be a fantastic location. Also a stone's throw from the Boulevard brewery.

The problem with where the stadiums are now, is that there is no AFTER party potential... for some reason the prime area that they COULD have built out is a MODOT equipment parking lot and garage.

Poor vision by whoever planned the area AROUND Truman.

But $300,000,000 got you a carousel and a sports bar. What else do you need? (I guess the deck could be cool if it was ever not closed for a private event).

Sorry I should have been more specific and said Johnson County Douchebags.

I don't see Johnson County stepping up with any stadium proposals. Johnson County is all about gated communities and private golf courses. They offer NOTHING for the greater community good. Platte County has the Airport, Clay County has Worlds of Fun and Casinos, Wyandotte County has Sporting, Kansas Speedway and the T-Bones, Jackson County has all the museums and major sports venues.

Johnson County just uses the stuff everybody else paid for, then bitches about the condition of the stadium or roads. That's just the way they roll.

Yep. Heads on pikes.

John Buck is 2nd in the majors with 15 RBI (B. Butler is 3rd)

George nails is.

Johnson County is to Kansas City what Canada is to the United States.

Sitting on the border, leeching benefits and contributing absolutely nothing to the overall area.

So, you think Canada leeches benefits and contributes nothing to the US? I'm confused by your analogy.

Yet, I'd still rather have Salvy.

Canada leeches the benefit of being on the doorstep of the most powerful military in the world. It is able to spend practically no money on national defense because it knows the U.S. would never allow a foreign military to screw with someone that shares that much border with the United States.

Johnson County leeches all the benefits of being part of a major city (arts, entertainment, transportation hub, etc) without contributing in any way to those things.
