You gotta figure that we really have around $20. You're going to want $5 million for draft picks and another $5 million to have just in case.

Yeah it's not ideal.

Wow the Browns don’t have a single one of their own 1st round picks on their team from 2009-today.

That’s insane

Mecca 03-12-2018 03:28 PM

This team will not find a WR in this draft that makes an impact this year...you have to pick and choose. I'll take a 24 year old FA that is explosive and draft the other spots.

Myles Garrett is there is he not?

O.city 03-12-2018 03:30 PM

Didn't they take a safety in the first last year as well?

They can do both?

Depending on the source, they have around $28-30M available right now.

That includes $16M in dead money that will be off the books next year.

They are in good shape now and in GREAT shape starting in 2019 - so they can structure things in a way to afford to do pretty much anything they want this year.

They can, I hate putting money into later years as that can just end up being dead money then.

But, with a cheap QB they need to not waste these 4 years. They've already lost 1.

They don't have to completely backload is my point - just get past this year if they really want to spend now.

And I agree - the time is now.

RunKC 03-12-2018 03:34 PM

Yeah nfln said outside of last year. Still crazy. Imagine Mahomes being your only 1st rd pick on the team that you drafted.

1 year of first rd picks that you chose.

You just have to make sure it's clean when (hopefully) Pats deal comes due and he's actually worth it.

Yep.

Seems like the market for ILB is about $7m AVV for a good one, I'd be okay with Watkins/Robinson/Richardson as long as it leaves space for a good ILB.

I agree about the NT comments earlier, either get a vet min as your NT (like Diall) or try and get Daquon Jones to play all 3 downs.

More likely to wear stripes in the penitentiary.

Um, you know if you know what you are doing a starting ILB should come from a draft pick.
