Thank god that Shank punt didn't save Ferentz from another stupid decision...
|
Woohoo! Back to back 10 win seasons. I don't remember the last time that happened for Mizzou
|
I will stand on this but I think this team would have competed better than the other playoff game losing teams. They have been through the grind with a veteran QB and are a tough team.

But I think this offense could have went toe to toe with most of the teams. |

Don't lose to South Carolina and you don't have to wonder. And they had NO business losing that game. |

Last year I think they played 3 or 4 games at or near their peak ability. I don't think they played a single A game all season. |

Fun game. Two seasons in a row with at least 10 wins. Somewhat disappointing year but won’t complain if that’s the norm.

Lots of frustrating moments but the guy was a gamer the whole time and left it better than he found it. Glad to see him go out a winner.

Did we talk about the transfer OT Mizzou landed from West Virginia this week?
Three years left to play, has been productive already. Was the top OT left in the portal according to 247. They’ve quietly added a lot of good players with proven production, while the big losses are guys who haven’t played/produced yet. |

This isn't me being a hater, but if you go back and take all the QBs from Pinkels 1st year all the way to now, then he's one of the bottom 2-3 QBs. I'm so glad he's gone. |
So........ Brady Cook declared for the draft today. Does he get drafted on day 3? UDFA? I doubt that he's ever going to be a starter. But I wonder if he might eventually become a backup somewhere? Maybe he ends up as a starter in the UFL?
|
Quote:
|
Yeah he doesn't even have the prototypical size teams look for in QBs. He's listed as 6' 2", so he's probably only 6'-6'1". I don't think there's a chance he's drafted and he will be lucky to make a practice squad.
|
Quote:
He literally doesn't have a single NFL trait. Seems like a good kid and a good leader but no, he's not even a practice squad player, IMO. Get your grad assistant gig and try your hand at coaching in a few years, Brady. Football is over for you. |

Brady Cook: Future Battlehawk.
|
Yeah. I'm sure that you're all right. But, then again, Taysom Hill has started at quarterback in this league, so I would say that anything is possible.....Not very likely though
|
Brady Cook will be a rookie mini camp arm. Kudos to him for not trying to hang on for too long and try to be a 6th year senior or some shit.
He got to exit on a high note. |
Coach Drink has been busy in the portal. They just signed their 16th transfer. I heard yesterday that they currently have the number one portal class in the SEC. Here's the latest transfer
Mizzou Football’s transfer portal class is currently one of the best in the country, and the Tigers have no signs of slowing down. On Saturday morning, Eli Drinkwitz and the staff addressed the tight end position from the Mountain West Conference. Former Colorado State Tight End Vince Brown has announced his commitment to Missouri on X. From Olympia Fields, Illinois — Brown started his collegiate career at JUCO’s College of Dupage where he won two NJCAA National Championships and led them with 373 receiving yards with 20 receptions and four touchdowns. This past season at Colorado State, Brown started 12 of 13 games and had 24 receptions for 256 yards and three touchdowns for a Rams team that finished 8-5. Brown is the 16th overall transfer addition for the Missouri Tigers this offseason and joins a tight end room of Brett Norfleet, Jordon Harris, Whit Hafter, Jude James, and Dakotah Terrell. He will have one season of eligibility remaining. Get to know: Vince Brown Hometown: Olympia Fields, IL High School: Rich Central High School Position: Tight End Ht/Wt: 6-6, 230 lbs 247Composite Ranking: Three-Star, 84 On3 Ranking: Three-Star, 87.00 Rivals Ranking: Three-Star, 5.5 |
This story says that they were number 1 with 14 transfers. Up to 16 since then
Following Missouri's 27-24 victory over Iowa in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30, the offseason began, and head coach Eli Drinkwitz has been hard at work strengthening the Tigers' program. The effort appears to be paying off, as On3's latest transfer rankings place Mizzou as the No. 1 SEC program in transfer portal acquisitions to date. As transfer portal activity slows, the Tigers have added 14 players while losing 15. However, the incoming transfers appear to be significant upgrades, while many of the outgoing players were unlikely to see much playing time. The most significant loss of this portal season was undoubtedly five-star freshman Williams Nwaneri, who transferred to Nebraska after just six months in Columbia. According to On3, he entered the portal as a four-star transfer. Mizzou lost just one four-star player in the portal but gained five highly rated additions. Kevin Coleman (WR), Jalen Catalon (DB), Josiah Trotter (LB), Nahthan Johnson (EDGE), and Ahmad Hardy (RB) are all set to join the Tigers next season, bolstering the roster across multiple key positions. Beyond the star ratings, head coach Eli Drinkwitz might be most pleased about securing a potential successor to Brady Cook at quarterback. Cook, who has been the Tigers' starting quarterback throughout Drinkwitz's tenure, exhausted his eligibility following the 2024 season. Penn State transfer Beau Pribula is poised to become Missouri's next starting quarterback after reportedly receiving a $1.5 million NIL deal. A dynamic dual-threat player, Pribula brings an exciting skill set to the Tigers with two years of eligibility remaining. The next few weeks will be worth watching to see if any changes occur ahead of spring camp. One thing, however, is clear: the competitiveness of Mizzou's program shows no signs of slowing down. |
Will be interesting to see if he can mesh talent to win now. Always been bullish on Drink and think we should expect 9-10/seasons going forward at this rate, and every few years be in the playoff.

Mizzou just got a commitment from the top transfer in the portal Damon Wilson. Will post tweet when I can.
