These are things that people would have talked about in past off seasons especially in TC. Instead we get a random highlight here or there but no real discussion. I don't know, listening to the only decent radio guys who cover the chiefs in KC (c.dot and Rob) and Nate Taylor, this TC has been rougher than last year and there are a few questions marks. But I don't see anyone saying that here. What's the disconnect? |
Since Mahomes left money on the table to keep other players around I fully expect Patrick to drill Chris Jones in the nut sack in practice once he arrives.

Is Donovan Smith gonna work? Well OBJ struggled badly and they made it work. Is Chris Jones gonna get paid? Doesn't matter right now. He's under contract this year. Are the rookies gonna produce? Who cares? This team isn't relying on them to be successful like other teams. Andy and Toub have been in their positions for a decade, Spags for 4 years and Veach for 5. What's there to discuss there? The Chiefs are a Dee Ford offside and botched OT drive from going to 5 straight Super Bowls. Try to enjoy it. It's never gonna be this good again once this run comes to an end. |

It seems your issue is a lack of information, not a lack of discussion. Hard to discuss it when we have no real, valuable information on the subjects you're asking about. Just gonna have to wait till they suit up. |

And before last offseason Veach himself said this upcoming offseason (this current one) is the last year before bigger cap jumps happen. New TV deals, gambling revenue and a few other factors are set to have the cap make a big jump next offseason. Agents and front offices know this. |
Rap was on Mac today and we made him a big offer that made him second highest paid but ist wasn't enough per year average or some shit.

We don't know the outcome of the play if Jones doesn't sack him. Why are you automatically assuming that it's a first and 10 or better? What you SHOULD be speculating on, is the ACTUAL game sealing play, which was Ossai's late hit out of bounds on Mahomes. Pacheco was a dumbass, and did not get out of bounds on the previous play when he easily could have. Now we've blown our last timeout with what, 17 seconds left from the 48. Mahomes ran for the first down to the 44. Out of bounds with 8 seconds left and no timeouts. 9 seconds wasted scrambling for that 4 yard run. Maybe we get fg range, maybe we get tackled in bounds again and end up going to OT. We don't know. It's as easy to say without Ossai's stupidity we don't win the game as it is to say that if Jones doesn't sack Burrow, the ball is 1000% completed and the Bengals get the rest of the way down the field to win, and equally as stupid. The sack was a big play, but it was not the deciding play. |

Interesting take by Andy. He basically says camp helps get guys ready for the grind. When guys are not in camp the chances of them getting hurt INCREASE when they do show up. Sounds like this a subtle way of saying the longer Chris holds out the less desirable the Chiefs view him from a durability standpoint.
I'm getting bad vibes. Clear they very much want him in camp. https://news.yahoo.com/chiefs-andy-r...150021134.html |

You've asked Jones to continue to improve, be a leader, and step up his play in the post season. He did. All of it. He's playing the best ball of his career at a position that gives your defense a HUGE advantage. Mahomes and Jones are the only two players on this team I'd argue you need to pay. If they ask it - pay it. Jones is not asking to equal or top Donald. You've got Mahomes and Kelcee below market value and have the ability to get Jones below market value. Paye d'yat mahn hee's mahn-ee... |

I do think that you need Chris Jones.
My DL philosophy, however, is similar to my WR philosophy. I think having 5-7 B+ to C+ players is just as good as having 1 A+++ player. Chiefs proved that last year at WR, although they have a literal cheat code at QB. No such advantage exists for the DL. Chris Jones is an A+++ talent, but I think it would be better to have 5-7 B-level players. That's harder to assemble than just having a stud, but I think it puts more pressure on offenses, because otherwise you're just banking on Jones being Superman every week and if he doesn't, you're cooked. The problem at this point, and why this all should have been settled back in March, is that the Chiefs, right now, simply don't have 5-7 B-level players. Their current starting tackles are Derrick Nnadi and Daniel Wise. That is absolutely brutal. The DE position has a ton of potential and I love the talent there, but it's going to take a season to develop. So now the Chiefs find themselves trapped. The Hill contract negotiations were instructive: let Hill go and maybe take a step back for a season (lol didn't happen), or pay him his ask, and you take a step back for several seasons. The difference is that Hill was traded in the Spring. We're one day out from preseason at this point and the Chiefs have no options. |

We are maxed out on the cap. We spent the extra money that Mahomes and Kelce gave up. If the numbers above are true, they have no reason to be pissed off at the Chiefs. |

Looked like a dbag. Their client roster is, to be charitable, unimpressive. No wonder he’s (probably) advising Jones to hold out for the bag. Gotta make that 3%. Professionals with thin clientele tend to hump the shit out of ones they have. |
Jones needs to get his ass to camp.
“When the Chiefs have their final camp practice, set for Aug. 17, Jones, who is holding out for the first time in his eight-year career, will have accrued a fine of $1.4 million for the days he has been away from the team. If Jones’ absence continues after camp, he will continue to face a mandatory $50,000 fine each day, based on the new CBA.” https://theathletic.com/4763510/2023...hiefs-holdout/ |

I don’t want to see 95 leave either, but he wants #1 pay, and he needs to realize his top QB and TE don’t make number 1 paydays either. So if he holds out for #1 money, then the chiefs will be idiots to either pay him OR let him walk in FA. IF that’s the true scenario going on, which none of us know, then I would hypothesize the chiefs will be idiots for NOT trading him. |

If Jones took 27 million and invested in TSLY at 15/share , an .83 dividend would make him 1,494,000 per month in dividends.
After 12 months he'd have $44,928,000 And that doesn't include the compounding interest affect if he would DRIP his shares. He needs a new agent and financial advisor. |
