Cheers to that. Most depth the Chiefs have had at the position in a while.

The one to Conley was behind him also causing him to stop and stumble before falling or else he too would still be running.

Which throw in the whole game yesterday can you say is a great throw from Foles?

I'm not sure Alex throws that kind of pass while up 10 points at the end of the 4th quarter. He just sits on leads.

I'm not even sure I've seen alex throw that kind of ball ever in his time in KC. Might be wrong though.

I like the fact that we were more aggressive with the lead for once.

Just that little subtle non-panicked move to the left with his eyes looking DOWNFIELD is something SMIFF would not have done and doesn't do naturally.

Yeah that was a great throw but I was talking about the ones that counted. Otherwise I would have mentioned the throw to Maclin that Alex made before the touchdown pass. That was also a great throw in traffic that Maclin for some reason tried to one one the whole way.

But yes, I forgot about that kelce pass, that was a great one.

Otherwise I think about it like this. If Alex makes that EXACT pass to Hill, hes laughed at on this board and the same people praising Foles are calling Alex a noodle arm because of how bad of an under throw it was. Can't have it both ways.

So you think he also tries to fit one in between 2 defenders 40 yards down field? That would extremely out of character.

I wouldnt..

That pass was just a jump ball/punt..he threw it up there to let his receiver make a play. I would be stoked if alex did a couple of those here and there....keep the defenders honest! LOL The knock on alex is he doersnt try that enough, IMO.

BossChief 11-01-2016 09:44 PM

Question:

Why not use both quarterbacks?

Face a defense with poor safeties? Start Foles and let him attack deep.

Face a defense that has a hard time with the short passing game and stoping the run? Start Alex and let him kill them with 1000 little cuts.

I've always wanted Foles since we hired Reid. He's who I traded for during our CP mock draft in 2012. I'll take the gunslinger over the safe QB any day. Foles will certainly put more fear in the defense than Alex Smith certainly. I do want to say that I appreciate Alex's toughness.

The greatest throw ever in NFL history (Foles to Kelce for a hidden completion) nets a troll jizzfest and nothing more (3rd and 6). Alex would probably throw the screen move the chains (1st and 10). ****ing dipshits

The hidden completion isn't quite as good as all those hidden touchdowns

RunKC 11-02-2016 08:40 AM

It's interesting to consider Foles bc Alex is clearly going downhill bc he can't run anymore. Foles was after all Andy's first choice when he got here.

If we spent big $$ on Daniel, I see them doing the same with Foles next year. I think Andy could be grooming him to take over for Alex soon.

You don't turn down a $40-50 million dollar salary. Foles can sit on the sideline for the rest of the year and that's what he'll probably earn from a team like the Browns or the Jets.

His higher ceiling doesn't translate to more success when you consider his floor his significantly lower than Smith's.

I doubt a team will throw that out there. His value was never higher than when he was at Philly and he didn't even get that much.
Staying here for $10.5 million will be his biggest financial year.

Yes..

Perhaps because the option to scramble is not there he goes deeper? Not sure what it is but I do agree alex is looking a lil deeper of late..was still 0-4 on deep balls last week whereas foles was 3-5 and if u give him he kelce throw, 4 for 5.....

Foles average yards per completion was 14....

Problem was he wasn't a free agent after that great season, otherwise he would have gotten a huge offer from someone. He was traded after a less than stellar statistical season, and by the time he actually was a free agent he had the stank of the Rams offense on him and was coming off 2 not very good seasons.

If he has a few good games here & then hits FA I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone threw stupid money at him.

4 seasons of wins which include beating teams (i.e...Seattle, Patriots, Denver) that went on to play in respective Superbowls those years doesn't qualify beating some of the 'best' teams?

Nobody is saying we have been undefeated since the Reid/Smith arrivals, if that's the only counter argument you can come up with to discredit their achievements....

Fluke season much like Cassel's 27/7 TD-INT season. He was throwing to a bunch of wide open WRs and defenses hadn't figured out Chip Kelly's offense yet.

Foles isn't that good. Rams fans were very happy when he got released. I mean the guy got cut by the Rams (of all teams) who didn't even have a good backup.

Fisher couldn't even get anything for him in a trade what does that tell you?

He's a good backup. He's not someone you want starting for you all season. Throws too many INTs, holds on to the ball too long and his arm strength is just average (see the deep ball to Hill last week). Only thing he really does better than Alex Smith is he takes more chances down the field but the cost of that (more INTs) isn't even worth it especially considering we have a good defense.

Reid is not going to bench Alex Smith for Foles so just stop with this nonsense. Start him in Madden if you want him to start so bad.

If he is symptom free and passed all the tests, why hold him out? Yes, I know it's the Jags and there isn't really reason to risk injury, but they risk injury every time they step on the field - so if he's not injured, why hold him out?

I thought about taking a shot every time TigerBob posted something stupid, but I want to see Foles play for more than 7 or 8 game minutes.

It is hard to tell if Foles was bad or if it was the WR's? Macklin went out early, They were trying to throw downfield and he hit Wilson a lot but they were like 1 for on 3rd down with the West run at the end of the game the only conversion I can remember.

Foles was lucky all of his scoring drives started in scoring range or this one would have been ugly. 4 turnovers and a missed FG and only 19 points? Typical.

Sounds smith-like

We saw the trade offs we expected

Nice deeper throws with more chances taken and wtf moments

He is what we though he was

Well this question should be answered. "Folds" needs to go back to holding a clipboard.

Exactly

Now, just maybe, some people will have figured out why he was beat by Case Keenum.

Is it time to start Foles over Smith?
No.

petegz28 11-06-2016 03:32 PM

Yeah, like I said last week...there is a reason Foles is a backup. Dude was terrifically average at best today

ArrowheadHawk 11-06-2016 03:33 PM

Foles, ha!

He made me pine away for Chase Daniel today.

The answer is still no and will not change.
