What they've never realized is that all of their best stars got over on ability, but rather than looking for that, Vince has always needed to satisfy his daddy issues.

Hogan was over due to his unique look, charisma, and Rocky III. He was already a phenomenon when he went back to New York.

Warrior was booked like a monster, and guys like Rick Rude got him over, but he wasn't good enough to actually carry the torch.

Next, Vince went to Luger, who again, had the look, but he didn't have the workrate, mic skills, or charisma to get over, and it took almost a year and a steroid trial for Vince to pull the plug on him.

Bret Hart got over solely thanks to Bret Hart. Shawn Michaels was a bitch of a politician, but he was never booked like a monster, and he largely got himself over. Austin was hired as a midcard mechanic, and he got himself over despite a string of losses.

They originally booked Rock like a franchise face, but the fans shit all over him. Again, he got himself over in the Nation. The only reason he even entered the Austin feud was because Farooq no-showed the Raw after Montreal, so they put Rocky into his spot for that program.

The office put the rocket ship on Lesnar, who didn't want to travel or work house shows, and then Cena was the chosen one to be followed by Reigns.

They almost never make the right decision on their own.

Daniel Bryan too...he was clearly nowhere in their plans and they wanted Batista v. Orton so bad but their hands were forced because the crowds were shitting on everything.

That's the problem you're seeing now...the crowds are telling Vince and co. that they don't want Reigns but he's so hellbent on making him the next Cena for whatever reason that they're just ignoring everything.

Douchey Rock is best Rock.

Imagine that, a naturally entertaining guy goes on his own script and is entertaining as hell.

And now TND is out here. This segment is 14/10.

Why wasn't this the closing segment?

I really like Paige's body, much preferable to the sinewy look.

Sassy Squatch 01-25-2016 10:11 PM

That makes absolutely no storyline sense.

Jerm 01-25-2016 10:18 PM

I love how the Authority wants to **** over Roman so much that they keep giving him title chances and putting him in matches to get a shot...what logic lol.

Still trying to figure out what Brock did tonight that was impressive enough to get into said match as well....

See this is the easy logic time continuity bullshit they just ignore and do whatever they want.

mcaj22 01-25-2016 11:23 PM

I don't watch regularly anymore, I haven't for years, I tuned in for my first Raw since Punk left to see AJ Styles.... and I had to sit through a lot of what felt like crap to get to it.

I must ask storyline wise about Roman vs the Authority,

The first segment/promo was Vince/Steph crushing Roman for how undeserving he is and blah blah blah, then the last promo after Roman/Jeans put Rusev through a table is Steph coming out and saying Roman is in a triple threat at Fastlane for a #1 Contender spot a Mania... but if Roman Reigns was so undeserving three hours earlier, then why the heck does he deserve that?

The entire story contradicts itself and is terrible writing.

Also, is Jeans just in the triple threat match to take the pin so Brock doesn't look weak and then Reigns and Jeans will shake hands and stay pals? Like why is Ambrose just a bitch lackey in all this.

New World Order 01-25-2016 11:26 PM

This thing really started two years ago when the WWE tried to force Bautista down everyone's throats by bringing him out of retirement and having him win the Royal Rumble. And maybe honestly it started before that when they were holding down C.M. Punk. The fans have had enough. They won't push Ziggler because they put the strap on him and he immediately got a concussion. They don't want Bryan because he's too small.

They want Reigns because hit fits that big agile brute. They want him to be the Rock, and while I think he's better in the ring that some, he is just not good enough on the mic.

Mecca 01-26-2016 06:53 AM

They have no competition, they are making a profit no matter what right now. So instead of listening to the fans about who they want to see pushed they hand pick the guys they like and ram them down everyone's throats until it's accepted.

The WWE doesn't care what fans want to see, listen to the stuff they say and how they react. They honestly feel like the crowds that shit on things or shit on things online are the vocal minority and most people like what they do.

They are completely out of touch with reality, honestly Vince was out of touch with reality until is company about went out of business and he had no choice but to push what people wanted.

Now he's back to being on the only game in town so it's the Vince McMahon splooge fest be damn of what the fans want.

It doesn't help matters when the talent is scripted to fold to his jabs and not fire back. New Day got the chance to actually go toe to toe with The Rock and they killed it. Pretty sure The Rock cracked up at the Rikishi impression.

It has just been announced that Nakamura will make his debut on NXT at their Dallas takeover show during WM week and will face Sami Zayn. I am a bit surprised that he would start down there but holy shit that's a nice first match. If Gallows & Machine Gun also start in NXT, that roster will be ****ing loaded. For singles, you have Balor, Zayn, Nakamura, Itami, Samoa Joe and probably a bunch of others I am forgetting. For tags you would have Gallows & Machine Gun, Jordan & Gable, Dash & Wilder, etc. That's shitloads better than the main roster from a wrestling perspective.

They are going to call most of the older guys in NXT up to the main roster when the even older farts leave post Mania.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joe, Anderson, Gallows, etc are all asked to help carry WWE post-WM.

So far, it's Balor vs. Joe, Bayley vs Asuka, Jordan/Gable vs Dash/Wilder and Zayn vs. Nakamura. That is a helluva start. Not quite Wrestle Kingdom good, but not too far off. And a shitload better than the senior circuit will present in Jerry's house.

That's just a convenient excuse. Tommy Dreamer has no problem getting cleared to wrestle and he can barely function normally from all the shit wrong with his head. They don't want Bryan and his crowd effect hijacking their plans like he's done before. They're telling him he's probably never going to be cleared by a WWE doctor again and are offering him different jobs.

Another reason wrestling suffers do lack of another big competitor. If he could jump ship to WCW like in the old days they wouldnt be dicking around.

theyre actually dicking around because they DONT want him to jump ship. He would be a huge draw in NJPW, ROH, TNA, LU

hell he could stick it to them and work his contract where he could appear for all 4.

If it was some jobber in Bryans position right now, the WWE would have released him months ago. They dont want anyone making money off Bryan. Even if its to spite themselves and their terrible booking

Mecca 01-28-2016 11:17 AM

It's completely odd to see them dick around with Bryan as they sign every indy darling you can think of...I wonder if it's more H and Vince differences.

Dragon would be amazing in NJPW. That would definitely at least partially fill the void left by the 4 that were signed by WWE.

HHH vs Reigns will be a snoozefest. Although it may be fun watching the fans shit all over it for 20+ minutes. I don't have much hope for the whole card. I am sure whatever they have Owens and Styles do could be good, but other than that nothing really excites me. I really hope Gallows and Anderson are up in enough time to be on the card but who knows.

The NXT card will likely be light years better that weekend.

He had a new test right before the Royal Rumble in New York, because he was trying to get cleared for the Rumble/Mania season, the test was a more extensive one, and I think the results from that might have led to this, hopefully he explains it tonight.

BigCatDaddy 02-08-2016 02:21 PM

Any chance of a work?

ragedogg69 02-08-2016 04:21 PM

Dave Meltzer:
"I seriously doubt this is a swerve of any kind"
"Dr. Joseph Maroon was not going to clear him. It was an effective "no" for quite some time."
Sometime back, when he was wanting to wrestle again, (It would have been ROH & NJPW) two doctors cleared him (UCLA doc and Arizona Cardinals doc). Vince McMahon would not side against Maroon. Bryan asked for his release, Vince McMahon said no.
Thursday before Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan went to New York to have more tests done. Dave says Bryan will probably expand on that tonight.
"If you're really really smart, the testing methods they usually use for concussions ... the rest of your brain can compensate and create new pathways ... and it over-rides the bad areas ... essentially you can beat the typical tests."
The new test he had in New York is more thorough and checks all of the areas of the brain. "Danielson found out about (this test) and decided it was what he needed" It shows different levels of damage and how the brain heels.
The test was done the Thursday for the Rumble. He says that they'd need to do a test after a month and that the timing is odd. He got the results of the first test January 28th. There was going to be more testing done. "Maybe it scared him."
Dave thinks this is Bryan's decision, not WWE's.

TLO 02-08-2016 06:49 PM

Hopefully RAW doesn't suck tonight.

Good for WWE to stick up for themselves. Titus O Neil shouldn't have been a little bitch and grabbed Vince ruining a shot of a remorseful McMahon for hall of fame packages and Daniel Bryant's dvd. Titus was mad he jobbed to Adam rose so he grabbed Mcmahons arm and swung him around.
