I am sure Maclin feels liberated to be free of Alex Smith's Bubble Screen prison.

Kiimo 06-02-2017 07:33 PM

Not likely since that was the only place he could get open.

Not hard to replace 500 ypg.

Meatloaf 06-02-2017 07:34 PM

Wonder if a part of the thinking is to give a younger WR additional playing time in preparation for 2PM taking over in a year or two? Plus, it sure sounds like we got ourselves in a cap bind.

Anyong Bluth 06-02-2017 07:35 PM

Who would have guessed Sylvester Morris would end up having a longer career with the Chiefs than Jeremy Maclin...

??????????????????????

Kiimo 06-02-2017 07:36 PM

The irony is that the type of QB Maclin needs to catch passes is 2PM.

penbrook 06-02-2017 07:36 PM

What do think of Anquan Boldin?

Actually that would be really hard.

Guess how many WR's other than Maclin have had an 1,000 yard receiving season with Bubble Screen Alex Smith as their starting QB, during Smith's 11 year career with both the 49ers and Chiefs?

That would be zero, no other WR's with the Chiefs or 49ers.

Yeah that's like 6 games worth of yards for Alex.

This looks pretty good to me, one down year and he was only 29. Seems more like an outlier than a trend. I don't see any reason to not give him one more year to see if he bounces back before cutting him. I know, "but he's garbage."

This really screams to me that they dont think Alex can make it happen and dont really care about paying for weapons to support him.

Look at the draft.....and now this.

They are ****ing over it, just like everyone else..

Bye Alex..

Roster is one of the most well rounded in the league, but let's piss away trying to win this year because we traded up for a QB. You know what the success rate of round 1 QBs over the last 15 years is?

I understand we're uncharted territory drafting a signal caller in the 1st, but it's not the GD Twilight Zone.

JakeF 06-02-2017 07:46 PM

If we don't spend the 10 million for this year then it's pretty clear what we are doing.
