We have only drafted QB 5th round and below. That is just project territory.

Andy Reid will have to sign off on a QB higher than that because he is the guy who will be developing him. No way does Dorsey select a 1st round QB without Reid's complete approval.

We don't know if there were any QBs that Dorsey wanted that were taken by other teams first. There were teams that traded up ahead of us and took a QB. A lot of people thought we were going to take Manziel until the Browns jumped ahead of us (luckily as it turns out).

Sorry I couldn't answer you sooner, I was on the Pro Bowl taking a Smith.

Dorsey may actually value his career, job, and reputation.

It's also possible that Dorsey may NOT have a man-crush on Smith.

Many exciting possibilities!

Do you have a point here? Dorsey, who doesn't work for Andy Reid, will take a QB when he thinks the time is right. And Andy Reid has never been afraid to change QBs. Ask McNabb, who he traded to a division rival to pretty much everyone's surprise.

I assume you were kidding, since there was literally no team this year, including the desperate Browns, that signed him. No one in their right mind would want to replace a QB that is winning a lot of games with a guy that doesn't even care enough about football or making millions of dollars to even try to clean up his act. It isn't like he tried and failed, he never even tried.

I didn't even think last year he was allowed in the league because of a suspension of some sort. He has been tweeting lately about changes but obviously that won't be seen until his actions prove otherwise. I honestly wouldn't mind bringing him in for competition with a rookie or Alex. He has been so distracted in the past and if he could turn the corner under Reid and focus on football I believe he has the talent to be good. But I'm not putting too much hope on him turning the corner.

Even his father has given up on him.

My question is to the fan base & I think I know the answer but would a rookie quarterback get the same luxury as all these retread veterans with excuses? Drop balls, bad protection, play calling, poor defense yada yada yada?

How long does he get to prove himself? Is he awarded with a chance to learn from his mistakes or team growth? I just imagine those against drafting our QBotf will call for a veteran the first time he throws an interception. I hope I'm wrong and the prospect gets and takes advantage of all opportunities to be successful.

Andy Reid has already answered that question with a resounding "No".

We've cut every young QB we've acquired except Bray without much real developing. Instead of keeping a young guy longer, we go out and sign a veteran backup.(Chase,Foles)

That's why i have reached the conclusion that Reid has no real desire to deal with a rookie QB and would rather deal with a less talented veteran.

Dorsey will only draft a high round QB if Andy Reid wants one.

You think Dorsey will try to force a rookie QB on Andy Reid?

Not happening, no point in drafting a 1st round QB if the HC doesn't REALLY, REALLY want him. We've seen that happen many times in the NFL and it almost always ends badly.

All your coaches have to be 1000% on board. It's hard enough to succeed with a rookie QB as it is.

They were all over Paxton lynch last year and reporter they tried to trade up for him. McNabb was clearly declining in Philadelphia when Andy got rid of him.

We will draft a quarterback somewhere in this draft I just hope that it's in rounds one or two

see how that worked out for the texans, one hand not talking to the other.

whatever they do with the qb situation, it will be mutually agreed upon. i think the only way they deviate from this plan is if clarke says 'you will draft this guy with this pick'. :D

Hunt is too busy drooling over all the hot soccer studs to tell the Chiefs to do that.

Paxton stuff was a rumor, might or might not be true.

Andy Reid didn't get along with McNabb because he didn't like his constant freelancing. He didn't run the plays like Reid wanted. Alex Smith is a such a good soldier that he borderlines on being a droid.
