God, Knowmo is a monkey-brained twat. Can we ban him for stupidity? There has to be a standard, no matter how low!

No one is saying Davis was not great when he played. But his career was not very long. Is that good enough to consider it a HOF career? Maybe it is, that's the debate.

And even if you cherry pick the first four years, TD had 7594 yards from scrimmage his first four years in Denver, 61 TDs.

Priest had 7645 total yards in his first four years with the Chiefs, with 76 TDs. And, he did that in 7 less games.

Herp Derp

I didn't even include playoff stats. TD would blow all of them out of the water if I did. (Dickerson and Jim Brown are the only two who can compare to TD)

I'm just saying Davis was one of the best to ever do it when he was healthy.

True or False: Chris Johnson is more deserving of the hall of fame than Terrell Davis.

tk13 08-05-2012 02:16 PM

That's certainly an argument. If you let TD in you open the door for all kinds of arguments. Why wouldn't Jamal Lewis deserve to get in? He did it without a HOF QB. He still might get in anyway. 10000 yards rushing, 2000 yard season, etc. Pretty much any player who slaps two great seasons together would have an argument. And maybe that's how it should be. The longevity issue is the big question I guess.

False TD was league MVP, SB MVP, and a two time SB champion

Nightfyre 08-05-2012 02:21 PM

That's funny. They're pretty statistically comparable. I guess you're just a homer. Surprise.

TD's regular season stats in his first four years should put him in the conversation for the HOF... His postseason stats should make him a lock.

Priest put up numbers but never won anything as the #1 guy.

Nightfyre 08-05-2012 02:25 PM

Funny, last I checked, football was a team sport. I guess Sanders doesn't deserve the Hall. The Lions never won anything right? What about Marino?

None of the players that went in the HoF yesterday had a SB title.

I'm surprised people didn't know Schefter was a bronco homer. He spent years underneath Shanarats desk sucking dick.

Yeah, but it's not his fault he never had a defense. If the Broncos had the Chiefs defense from 2001-2004, TD never would've won a playoff game either. Maybe it doesn't help. I don't think people perceive Super Bowls and the running back position the way you would a QB. Curtis Martin just got in without ever winning one.

Priest played one playoff game with the Chiefs and had more total yards than Davis ever had in a playoff game. You certainly can't paint him as some kind of playoff choke artist.

They also didn't have their careers cut short due to injury. If TD never got hurt he would have shattered the record books. But he did get hurt, so his playoff performances should be looked at.
