I really, really like DeCosta and Jimmy Raye III.

Gonna save that post for posterity, are ya?

For the "I told ya so's"?

I feel the same about Pioli as I did about drafting Dorsey. Everyone who's anyone (all of which know a lot more than me) figure he'd be a great hire.

Who would I be to argue?

I hope it happens.

I've said it before, it gonna be ****ing priceless - after everyone has made him out to be the savior before we've even hired him - if he passes on a QB in the 1st in April.

This place will turn on him hella-quick.

I'll put my faith in him. He's won 3 SBs and has earned the right to make the decisions he wants when he gets here.

This roster is shit-ass bare at linebacker, defensive end, center, right guard, right tackle, and QB.

I agree that QB is the most important need, but I'm not going to call for his head if he passes on someone.

The guy is bar-none the best GM candiate in the NFL.

If you want to say it's all Belichick, then I could also say that Baltimore is all Ozzie Newsome and San Diego is all AJ Smith.

New England hasn't exactly torn up the draft recently.

The Brady pick was lucky, and they haven't added much to the original core they drafted of Brady/Seymour/Wilfork/Warren, etc.

They've had some major whiffs in Maroney and Chad Jackson lately.

Well, he's excelled at getting players that fit what the Patriots do, on and off the field. We all know they do things differently than the rest of the league.

So, provided he comes here, does he think outside the box and create a new identity for the Chiefs, or does he just try to create New England West?

Don't be so quick to make Dorsey a bust yet.

He's a rookie DT for christ sake.

We might be dealing with a situation where Pioli wants a year to evaluate the roster.

Agreed.

If this is our man... and it happens...

I'll be more than willing to give him plenty of time to get his plan into place.

Oh, I haven't... not at all.

Don't get me wrong. If hired, I'll put my faith in him as well.

But I'm not going to be shocked when people are calling for his head if we pass on a QB, or have what is perceived to be a bad draft.

Their offensive line was all players drafted.

Their defensive line is all players drafted.

Mayo is a stud. Merriweather is a good player.

They make a huge deal to get Wes Welker.

Yeah, they've had some bad picks, but Pioli also hasn't really had the chance to draft in the top 5 either.

I won't be telling anyone "I told you so." If we hire him I'll be thrilled.

However, like I said in the last post, New England's drafting has been uninspired the past few years, and a part of me fears we are trying to grasp onto a New England dynasty that is on the decline. It reminds me of Seattle hiring Holmgren, Carolina hiring George Seifert, Cleveland hiring Carmen Policy, etc.

The draft resumes of DeCosta and Raye impress me more, that's all.

Yes, I'm sure he will. Eventually, we'll all tire of hearing, "In NE, we did X..."

But this is par for the course. Grandpa did the same thing. Herm does it. Dayton Moore talks about Atl. all the time. What can we expect? Individuals draw on past successful experiences...

We're not used to hearing this come from Carl's mouth b/c the mother****er was born here.

There are some insanely stupid mother ****ers on here.

Would I be shocked if they did? Nope.

Who? Who the **** is this guy?

Seriously, as long as he takes Tebow, I'll be cool.

If Pioli gets hired, It would be funny if Pollard got released.
