2nd Shift beers are great. The Blueprint Coffee LSD is out of this world good.

Finally trying Urban Chestnut's Zwickel.

Pretty good.

LOTS of good breweries here in STL - UC, Schlafly, O'Fallon, 2nd Shift.

I hated it. It was nothing like beer at all. Very disappointing. I don't know anybody who likes it. I would be shocked if you see it around again next year. Would not buy again.

Can't say I've ever had anything from O'Fallon that I liked, but you can add Civil Life, 4 Hands and Perennial to your list.

I was at a beer tasting last weekend and it was mainly liked by the women.

I dont think its directed towards beer guys as much as it is women or people not into hops or big beer.

Both of you missed the only world-class brewery in STL: Side Project.

Agree. But each time they try to directly market to women, it flops.

Hey southern Cal beer drinkers, any suggestions on the best taproom/beer bars and/or bottle shops near Newport/HB/Costa Mesa? I'm headed out for a long weekend tomorrow.

I was just in StL this weekend with the family. If I understand correctly, this is a popup shop that only has limited offerings that sell out quickly because I wasn't able to find any just sitting around in stores.

Correct. You're not likely to find any Side Project beers on ANY shelf in a retail shop soon. The beers are released at Perennial's location and they're usually a huge mass of people and are VERY small batch. The release events are a lot of fun though.

Looks like Bells finally came to terms with STL area distributors. Two Hearted Ale was back on shelves today. No more driving 30 minutes each way.

Iron Horse Brewery's - Irish Death. If anyone ever comes to Washington state, you have to try this one. Beer candy!! 7.8% ABV too!

I tried adding the link but I'm too new yet. Nice forums board.:thumb:
