If a report stating that DID come out, I'd dismiss it as pure bullshit.

Clark Hunt is NOT going to alter the course of this franchise's history over ONE YEAR of a shitty HC.

I also don't think Clark made an offer to Pioli until today due to interviewing other candiates.

If this is intensifying as the NE papers say, that could mean the offer just came in today.

Apparently, Reiss is very much connected to Pioli.

I'm really starting to believe this will happen.

So do you think the "NFL source" that supposedly supplied the info for that article was actually Pioli, or at least someone close to him?

That is great news. I really hope they get it done sooner than later though. I am impatient as hell.

Read the entire article...it appears that Pioli will at best be equal to Thum, and may even report to him.

They just must have updated that piece of info because it was just a blurb when I saw it.

I don't think Pioli would answer to anyone but Clark in the organization. Dneny and Scott would work together on the cap and contracts, but Scott would have final say over the players and coaching staff.

I have a real gut feeling this is going to happen on Monday.

I can't express the joy I will feel if Pioli is hired. That will be the final, and most concrete indication that Clark Hunt cares about winning as much as any owner in the league, and has handled this off-season like a true professional. I've never seen an organization keep a situation so under wraps. That could be an indication of a tight unit, and a leader who means business if anyone disobeys him, and leaks information

No, Thum would be business and Pioli would be football. Contracts yes.

If Hunt gets him...OH MY!!!

If he is hired, I hope he's as advertised.

I've said it before, it gonna be ****ing priceless - after everyone has made him out to be the savior before we've even hired him - if he passes on a QB in the 1st in April.

This place will turn on him hella-quick.

eazyb81 01-10-2009 10:20 PM

I hate to say it, but I'm still not convinced Pioli is the best man for the job.

I really, really like DeCosta and Jimmy Raye III.

With pick #34, the Kansas City Chiefs select...Bernard Pollard, safety, Iowa.

Who? Who the **** is this guy?

Seriously, as long as he takes Tebow, I'll be cool.

I for one, won't.

He may not even see a QB he likes.

We might be dealing with a situation where Pioli wants a year to evaluate the roster.

If you aren't convinced, then I don't know what to tell you.

The guy is bar-none the best GM candiate in the NFL.

If you want to say it's all Belichick, then I could also say that Baltimore is all Ozzie Newsome and San Diego is all AJ Smith.
