I had a friend that used to be the asst. Pro at the La Purisima golf course in Lompoc (Ca.), where they hold the PGA qualifying tournament.

Gave me some free lessons.

I think he came away thinking I was a hopeless cause.

I check in every so often and post what's on my mind.
I just moved back to MO a few months ago, and found this site while I was already thirty for chief talk after several years away from Missouri. Since we moved for the Wife's job, I've had a throw away job while I get my stuff together for a real job. I suspect my time here will drop significantly when that happens.

No, I was down in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, now living in the St. Louis Area.

I am glad you answered with ambiguity, I didn't mean to expose your exact location, but if you were on the East side of the State (MO), there could be some networking thoughts to pursue, that's all.

I will ask if you know of a program similiar to the POST program for the Police, I didn't know about it for a while, and just curious if there is a similiar program for firemen.

It was like testing out of the acadamy because of the past acadamy and work experience in another state.

I didn't know about it and was only appling for jobs that would send someone to the acadamy, took the test and got certified in Dec. and now can be hired anywhere because I have an active MO certification.

I don't know, maybe there is a similiar program for firefighters??

I only needed to be a first responder, so no to the EMT. I don't think it was a national certificate, but I don't know how that works. I took a regular fire acadamy and also an ARFF acadamy, then the anual testing/recertification (along with computerized tests throughout the year along with law enforcement tests)

I figured it to be more complicated, I haven't seen any firefighting opportunities without the EMT part. Not opposed, but probably better suited for Law Enforcement.

I did like being able to say I was a fireman while out and about, public perception being what it is and all.
