Sutton vs talent is such a myopic discussion. They are BOTH PROBLEMS. We have sparse talent and Sutton is a goddamn idiot.

The one today that the CHIEFS won.

The defense regressed last year. And it’s completely obvious why it did. Sutton makes for a convenient scapegoat but the talent on that side of the ball is terrible. Dee Ford was the best pass rusher on the field today - think about the for a minute.

Ford was good today though. If he plays like that all year that’d be nice

They don't realize Sutton is actually a good coordinator with bad players.

The secondary is garbage.

In the case that this isn’t complete sarcasm -

Sutton has reigned over two of the most epic defensive collapses in playoff history. He can eat a bag of dicks.

Look at any middling QB in the league that gets a competent QB coach to help fix him. It's not magic that suddenly makes them better. Coaching plays a large part in the development of talent, and in my opinion Sutton has failed spectacularly in that regard. Once the stalwarts of the previous regimes left or fell off, we've gone downhill fast.

But he is still here and you have to go with him. This team could mirror the Chargers when Don Coryell was the coach.

And the Chiefs can let him walk after the end of this season. He's not worth a big contract at all.

I don’t believe that was the argument at hand.

And you have stated that point-of-view approximately 1,300,983,673 times now, you crazy turtle person. (And that's just since I've been back.)

I'm honestly not certain that another couple hundred times is going to change anything.

Ergo, I encourage you to consider walking on the sunny side of the street. (After utilizing the crosswalk and looking both ways.)

Ford was a step short every time when he did get past the OT which he struggled with his piss poor technique

I'm not buying the talent excuse. That's not the only reason our defense is currently awful. If a play is blown here and there, then fine, blame the talent. This shit happens over and over and over again. Theres an underlying problem with either the scheme itself or the fact that the players aren't prepared to execute their responsibilities. Both of those ultimately fall on Sutton.

The scheme is so bad, it was the 2nd and 3rd-best scoring defense in the NFL two years ago. Players make plays. That’s the NFL.

I can’t believe anybody that’s watched football for any length of time would think differently. It’s completely obvious what the issue is.

Eh, coaching at this point trumps talent imo

Alex. Smith.

Sutton could have collapsed today except Mahomes not only got a 1st down on the late drive, he hit Sherman in stride and iced the game.

This fan base has seen way too much Martyball.

Coaching has a large part in making players. Sutton has developed 2 players that are worth anything resembling a shot. Peters and Jones. One of them is gone.
