Why can a rookie DL not be effective anyways? It happens every year.

Please name successful rookie NT’s that weren’t 1st rd picks. Not 4-3 DT’s or 3-4 DE’s. 3-4 NT’s

To put this into schematical terms, here’s what happens if we grab Sammy or A-Rob:

If a team tries to stack the box to stop Hunt, two of three between Kelce/Hill/new WR will be 1v1.

If a team doesn’t stack the box, and they won’t with Mahomes slinging it to 3 stars, the box is wide open all day for Kareem and Ware. It makes everyone’s job easier, including the OL.

This is likely what Veach and Reid see.

And that leaves you with most of your draft being spent on defensive players..other than probably a day 3 QB and interior OL.

So that should put us at what.....$23 million in cap space?

Suh will be released Wednesday

Mecca 03-12-2018 12:40 PM

The question with Suh is, is he gonna be looking to break the bank again or is he tired of being on awful teams?

How many snaps did true NT's play last year in the NFL?

Not many id imagine.

OMG Love David Boston!

Considering how pass happy the NFL is now, it's why there aren't many true NT's anymore. You're talking about a dude that plays 20 snaps a game.

Ron Parker cut

If that.

Look at Shelton. He's actually a good run down NT. Would potentially play what, 15-20 snaps per game?

I'm fine with taking one in the mid late rounds, but unless the guy can potentially be a pass rusher from the DL, meh.

We got killed by teams Who checked into running plays when we lined up in the nickel.

Big need to get a vet DL who can play NT and be athletic

They need better DL and Lb's sure. They don't need a NT that can't rush the passer.

Unless the dude is super cheap.

TambaBerry 03-12-2018 12:54 PM

just need to play 3 down lineman and we'll be fine. two just doesnt work especially when you have a dee ford or frank zombo

That's a lot of dough when you already have O.J. Howard.
