3 different Elijah Craig store picks in the last month here in the Wichita area
|
Jim Beam Honey for me...
|
Just returned from a spring break family vacation to the east coast that took us through Kentucky.
Stopped in Louisville for the Churchill Downs tour. Went to Frankfort to see the State Capitol, Rebecca Ruth Candy Store, and Daniel Boone grave. Then to Lexington. Picked up a few bottles along the way. (Krogers in Frankfort had a wide selection and great prices) |
-Four Roses Single Barrel
-Coopers' Barrel Reserve 100 proof -Old Bardstown Estate Bottled 101 proof -Silent Brigade 90 proof Also picked up a bottle of Boondocks Whiskey 11y/o. Technically not Bourbon since it is aged in used barrels. Hatfield and McCoy Family brand Whiskey.. (purchased for novelty) |

When on a booze buying spree last weekend. Came across a bottle of Russels Reserve for 24.99 at Beer Wine and Spirits in Omaha. It was not on my list, so I passed it up at the time, but I'm hearing fantastic things about it. Perhaps I need to go back and grab one. They had PLENTY of it, but I've noticed these things can go fast...
EDIT: The stuff I saw was in a "flat" bottle, not a round one...that might be the difference in price. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Can't find a pic online just now... |

I really wish I liked Bourbon. I may need Lewdog to give me a sampler tasting course for novices. A couple mixed drinks.
I'll treat him to Scotch and Whisky in return. |
This Knob Creek SIB is pretty solid
