Defense > Offense with one notable exception. Tyreek Hill |
Does our offense suck this much or is our defense just that ****ing good

Kind of an injury update

Thank god it doesn't look serious with Mitchell. I want the entire defense intact for once.

Been bounced around the league, on and off practice squads for the past four seasons. He's older and might be putting it together now, but it also might just mean he's done this kind of thing before and is better at showing up during camp practices now. Also, he's 290. He's a big dude. If he's playing OLB at that weight, he MUST have some kind of lateral mobility/agility/speed that makes him a good player to have spotted at the second level. Otherwise he unfortunately screams OLB/DE tweener who can't get on the field except for pass rush situations along the defensive line. That was part of Mike Catapano's problem. |

If you're going to overpay for a one-dimensional run stuffer, he'd better by god stuff the ****ing run. |
In other news Miami might need a new qb

I'd have never in a million years expected his play to fall off like it did when he was given the assignment that clearly fits his skill-set the best. He's just born to take over that role that Hali held down for so many years. Also need to see what DJ is truly capable of. The nasty truth is that he was slowing before his ACL went 'splodey. And can Terrance Mitchell actually play (or stay healthy?). |

New #Chiefs DL Roy Miller said he's one of the best run stuffers in the league, said to go ask OL around the league, "they'll tell you." BJ Kissel @ChiefsReporter Miller, who also had an Achilles injury last year and played at Texas, spoke w/ Derrick Johnson during his rehab. They know each other well. |

If the defense can get to a level where they are stopping the run well, things could really come together. All of the secondary is returning, so they should be in check.
Very excited to watch that group. Would love to see them go all 2015 Broncos and really kick into a new gear. After all, that is the Chiefs only real hope of winning a title in 2017 IMHO. |

You will refrain from wishing anything resembling a doncos team upon the Chiefs. Or you, sir, will be cheerfully beaten to a pulp.......digitally beaten that is. |

When they say a 34 yr old linebacker coming off his second major lower body injury looks 'better than ever'. Give me a break with that training camp puff piece bullshit. No he doesn't. Nobody has ever defeated time and they damn sure haven't also shrugged off serious injury in their mid-30s like it's nothing. Had he said something like "Johnson looks quick' or 'looks like he's recovered nicely from offseason surgery' that would've meant something to me. But when he spews unadulterated bullshit like that (and when it's Teicher, who's a brainless homer anyway), it means precisely dick. He will not be 'better than ever'. The only question is whether or not he'll be 'good enough'. He might be. |
Never trusted Teicher's ability to assess players
|
49ers release Bruce Ellington. Could be a good pickup considering our WR corps is thin

The NT depth is better than one would expect
Logan and Miller are a very good 1-2. Cam Thomas is an underachiever but having him compete and being 3rd string is a good thing if he's motivated. He could possibly beat out Jarvis Jenkins if he can play some 3 and 5tech as well as nose. Then Montori Hughes as 4th string that's a good group. Okine is probably closer to 270-275. And it will be interesting to see how he drops not only rushing and playing the run. |

#Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill worked after practice catching repeated passes at the team’s camp Thursday….while lying on his back. @SportsDailyKC |
That pic made me immediately say "that's genius". Will absolutely help in over the shoulder catches.
|
I know this has nothing to do with KC or our TC, but I heard Tannehill hyper extended his knee that got hurt last season.
|
I'll get some videos loaded to YouTube and embedded in the next hour or 2, but my takeaways from camp today are this:
Alex Smith was the best QB out there today, he was throwing deep regularly and was mostly accurate. The pick by Peters was a great play by Marcus. The second pick was a dumb throw. Mahomes has the most talent and it's easy to see, but the pick he threw was a stupid throw even he should know better than to throw when he's fighting for the2 spot. He threw one cross field to the opposing sideline that was right on the money and got threes in a blink. Exciting. His mechanics are vastly improved. Jones is gonna sneak on the roster. He might even steal a starting spot if he. Ontinyes towork his ass off and Conley keeps dropping balls. Bennie Logan is gonna be an upgrade. He was a force today and you can tell his teammates love him. Tyreek Hill is gonna go over 15tds. Had a couple nice matchups with Peters that he won. His timing and trust with Alex is impressive. DJ looks good. I can't believe it. DJ a White looks like he wants a bigger role. Eric Murray pups step right in and be a damn good safety. He destroyed aware towards the end of practice. Houston and Ford look like world destroyers. Seriously. Ford looks like a different player out there. Ferocious and violent. I loved seeing that. Houston looks like he's in prime condition and ready for a career year. I told him after practice that he looks like he's ready to get 23 sacks and he said I was cutting him short. :) Security told me not to film 7 on 7 or 11 on 11....but I still did so when they weren't watching. I've got lots of Mahomes clips. Anyway...I'm gonna work on getting some of these videos loaded. |
