There are documented texts that he's sent apologizing for making an alleged victim feel uncomfortable. Dude knows he ****ed up at least somewhat. Pretty dumb to say that publicly.

Yeah, that's either really brave or really stupid. Gonna be messed up if this new grand jury decides to indict.

He’s obviously not getting good legal advice (or is not listening to it) by not already settling these lawsuits and making them go away.

Letting them continue to linger, and eventually going to a civil trial with discovery? Pretty sure Watson doesn’t want that.

I wonder if settling would immediately land him in trouble with the league? Seems punishing someone for a civil suit is a little extreme but with Goodell, who knows.

That press conference was extremely embarrassing for the Browns franchise. I am not sure how you could not conclude that they simply don't care about the allegations. They won't say what they did to look into them. They say that they were thorough, even though some of the accusers have nothing on record yet. They won't say that they think he's innocent, only that they "believe in" him "as a person". The entire thing was them reciting legalese that amounted to "we don't care".

Someone posted elsewhere that Watson's contract is structured so that his salary this year is only $1 million, to minimize his financial losses if he is suspended this year.
