I would be a lot more comforted by this if it felt like the Chiefs were okay with a Dilfer as long as they went on a constant search to find a Brady or an Aaron Rodgers. Instead, the Chiefs will probably piece together a very good team this year, they'll tell the fans the QB is fine, and *boom* we're stuck with Trent Dilfer for the long-term. I would never root against the offense. But sadly, it's probably the only way Pioli will get it in his head that Trent Dilfer isn't good enough.
