Most of the episodes are spent deliberating and debating these decisions, and the obvious choice isn't always the one that gets chosen. If it was just the Enterprise running around blowing shit up and owning faces, that would be badass but the drama would be missing. It also wouldn't make Picard as deep of a character, and as a result his decisions to use force and rape shit in the future wouldn't have as much meaning.

It makes for good drama, but if these were real people and I had to live with the results of their decision making, I'd send Picard off to be a diplomat and put Riker in the captain's chair.

Or better yet, Kirk. Do you think Kirk would give two shits about establishing communications with the crystalline entity? Not likely. :bang:

Working my way through season 5

After Best of Both Worlds I and II, I'd say Darmok

Temba, his arms wide

I'm into Season 6 of DS9 now.

Now I know what Jem'Hadar soldiers feel like. This show is ****ing ketracel white at this point.

I keep waiting for an episode to give full closure. But it never happens.

This is my fourth episode today

DS9 definitely went from an "eh, I'll watch it if it's on" to must see the longer it went on. Great storytelling and battle scenes.

When I was rewatching the show as an adult for the first time a year or so ago I would get into bed with my laptop and watch an episode.

And then watch another one.

Well, maybe one more.

Perhaps another.

Oh, that sounds good....yes, one more.

Next thing I know I'm waking up with the laptop on my chest and DS9 playing.

****ing finally.

That story arc took the last episode of 5 and went all the way to episode 6 of season 6.

Seven goddamned episodes. But **** that was glorious

If you haven't already, I suggest reading the Memory Alpha entry for each episode after viewing them. The background info on each episode is interesting.

Anyway, that arc is probably the best Trek ever.

Epic shit.

You just want to high five Sisko and do a pelvic thrust in Dukat's face. MOTHER****ER GOT HIS BASEBALL BACK!

NOW just wait until you see what happens to Dukat. SERIOUSLY AWESOME SHIT!

Finished DS9.

I'm on Season 2 of Voyager.

I gotta agree with everybody here. DS9 > TNG by the slightest of margins. But it's the pinnacle of Star Trek. It's got the greatest moments, the best writing, the best acting, everything.

I was never able to really get into DS9. Maybe it is time for me to revisit that.

The video says to check out the books.

I mean, I'm curious to see what happens to the future of Cardassia, but not interested enough to check out all the glorified fan fiction.

Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll make another Star Trek series. I'm willing to let it be for now though
