He is going to be GREAT. pat needs to start hitting him on some looong balls. His sideline performance can improve more and who better than Hopkins to mentor that.

I’d start by exclusively targeting Brown or Worthy on those deep balls, shouldn’t be Watson with Btown back. Watson should be seeing at most like 5 snaps a game.

Rice/ worthy could be very aj brown/ smith.

I hope they can become that great overall and the comp is a good one based solely on body types, but they are very different players.

AJ Brown is actually a great deep threat while Rice is more of a catch and run RAC monster. Devonta is definitely a more polished WR than Worthy as well.

**** man even the reliably awesome WRs in their primes in this league will **** up a "routine" play on occasion.

The maddening part is it's almost as if you hadn't just been exposed to horrific WR play within the past calendar year when you went unhinged. Like you didn't watch MVS drops or Skyy being totally worthless and invisible or Toney...well... everything Toney. **** man, you experienced multiple games last year where the Chiefs lost DIRECTLY because of boneheaded shit Toney did and you blow your gasket over a 21-year old rookie not quite sticking the landing on one catch?

Worthy has yet to turn any on target Mahomes throws into interceptions. He's actually scoring TDs, and made a handful of impressive plays that showed off his elite speed and downfield tracking ability. Did I mention he's a goddamn 21 year old rookie who has a ****ton of dangerous potential to light vaginas on fire in this league?

And you're shitting a brick because he didn't get his feet down.

Ass indeed.

Yeah being mad in the moment that it might cost us a game is one thing. Thinking a guy not getting his feet in is a bad omen for his future is ridiculous. Getting open is a MUCH bigger predictor of success than his feet placement.

PHOG 12-22-2024 09:12 AM

He's coming along very nicely. Maybe, just maaybe, run the sideline routes where there is 3-4 yds room from the sideline for the adjustment to Patrick's throw on the deep ball.

Exactly what I wanted. No better player to learn from. From the physical aspects of the game to the mental stuff. Perfect mentor.

Wisconsin_Chief 12-22-2024 09:43 AM

I drool at the thought of him and Rice lining up together when both are healthy and in sync with Pat. It’s going to look like an entirely new offense with the passing game built around those two with Gray taking on a mini-Kelce role. Not to push 87 out or anything, he can play as long as he damn well pleases, but it’s great to know we have a plan in place for when he’s gone.

Everything this team does is two tiered; one move for the present while still looking towards the future. That’s why we can’t lose a goddamn game even if we try.

smithandrew051 12-22-2024 09:46 AM

Hopkins deserves a ring. He’s earned this.

Get him a ring and bring him back on a sweetheart deal to end his career in KC.

With stepping in for Rice and developing our young receivers, he’ll be one of the most beloved short term Chiefs ever.

Spott 12-22-2024 09:52 AM

It looks like he’s really starting to catch on the way that Rice did towards the end of last season.

Why Not? 12-22-2024 11:20 AM

The best part of the Dhop being Worthy's toughest critic is Worthy is all for it. He talked about it in his post game presser yesterday. He's as humble as he is talented. A+ draft pick who is gonna be a stud for years to come.

Talking to reporters Sunday, OC Matt Nagy says he feels that WR Xavier Worthy has hit that Rashee Rice (rookie season) breakout point.

"It's crazy how similar it is, and it's exciting."
