Maybe. But it looks like there are gaps between the booster and the trunk? They aren't using a second stage on this one, right?

There's not an active second stage - no - but there's a spacer of sorts from what I can tell. On the outside it looks just like the demo launch.

The black band is the top of the booster itself.

Apparently it's a fully loaded second stage with a mass simulator instead of an operational engine. Fireball time? :D

Full-size Falcon 9 ,no second stage engine since the "failure" will take place before the second stage would've started. Fourth and last trip for this Falcon 9 rocket. RIP(ieces)

It's kind of depressing now that we've gotten used to them always landing the boosters. Poor B1046. He's served well.

I know right? Was the first operational Block 5 I read. Oh well. Fireball is supposed to be be between 83 and 100 seconds at MaxQ. Don't blink.
