Yeah there’s a reason he wasn’t recruited here out of high school and you can see why in these types of moments against big boy squads.

If you ever wondered how KU let him get out of their own backyard, look no further.

I’m not sure I can recall a worse collapse at home than this.

Or anywhere at any level of sport

Thank **** I decided against it, this was the worst loss at any level of basketball I’ve ever seen

THATS the worst exaggeration Ive ever seen in the history of sports

How is it an exaggeration

Find me another game where a team turned the ball over 3 straight times to blow a 6 point lead in a minute in regulation and then did the same thing again with a 6 point lead with 18 seconds in overtime (and shooting FTs)

You won’t be able to do it; we had a 99.999% chance to win that and literally did every single thing we possibly could have to lose. We literally could have spent the end of regulation and end of overtime fouling Houston and it would have worked out much better than what we did

This one was pretty epic

The line between epic collapse and incredible individual effort is pretty fine.

Tonight was more about KU **** ups and Houston taking advantage than one of the best players of all time going crazy.

Yeah, this was just a pure choke. Houston managed to take advantage of it but that’s the takeaway. This is what this team will be in any pressure moment apparently.

There’s a lot of blame to go around to pretty much everybody but Flory and Griffen but I can’t forget about Shakeel Moore fouling a player with his back to the basket up 2 points with 10 seconds left. There’s only so much Self can do with this kind of dumbassery going on.

KC_Connection 01-25-2025 09:24 PM

What sucks most of all is they are going to waste their best NBA prospect in 12 years on this group (and probably do it with him on the bench in March).

Talent very much isn’t the issue with this team either, everything else is.

KC_Connection 01-25-2025 09:30 PM

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Self: Two pretty good team&#39;s playing and there weren&#39;t a nickel&#39;s worth of difference between us. (Plus) we didn&#39;t have KJ. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/kubball?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#kubball</a></p>&mdash; Shreyas Laddha (@shre98) <a href="https://twitter.com/shre98/status/1883350348192170274?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 26, 2025</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This would not have been Self’s post-game reaction to this one pre-heart issue imo

And he will use this loss to further justify KJ playing 35 min a game upon his return

teedubya 01-25-2025 09:41 PM

That was a train wreck collapsing onto itself into a black hole of suck.

That was literally the biggest meltdown in KU basketball history (and it’s a long ****ing history)

I mean that the game itself was just ONE regular season game. Yes, it was a big one, and yes, it was a monumental collapse, but it wasn't season ending. Still have half of the season left. The two games I mentioned were much worse for the team that lost. Just wasn't KU's night tonight. They ran into a team that wanted it more who took advantage of KU's mistakes. That's all. KU will be a factor in the end.
