Idk, curious to see.

I hope they dare us to go deep. I miss watching the deep shots.

A
I think they will play us the same as last year.. 2 safety’s and pack the intermediate routes.. Don’t think Worthy will be a starter at the beginning and will have the same trajectory as Rice last year.. Slow build to the end of the year.. You have to respect his speed though because you know Patrick can get it there..

O.city 05-07-2024 07:47 AM

Teams don't play up physical defense out side like the Chiefs did last year near as much as they used to.

Everyone worried about "press coverage" is a bit overblown.

We'll find out in a few months.

Yeah it really hasn't been his day, his week, his month, or even his year

My dumbass could design plays with that speed, even if they know its coming. Send Worthy and Brown deep(Post or corner), Send Rice and Kelce on underneath routes.

No way teams can cover Brown or Worthy one on one consistently. They will be forced to use help deep. More space for Kelce and Rice tlo get open.

Of course Reid will be designing routes at a way deeper level than the simple as the plan above. Reid will take advantage of that speed mismatch. This could be another 5000 yard season for Mahomes.

Not sure why he keeps saying 2nd year, because Brown's best year was easily his 3rd year in Baltimore before getting traded to Arizona to play with mostly backup QBs for 2 years.

Chris Meck 05-07-2024 11:00 AM

I think one thing getting lost here is that neither Brown nor Worthy are strictly deep threats. Both have the speed to be, but both are also more complete receivers than that. There's no problem having both on the field together - in fact, that's a nightmare scenario for a defense.

It can feel like you'll never be the same. Then one day...poof. You're fine again. One of the weirder lower leg injuries you can have to be honest. I think he'll be significantly better than last year not even counting the gigantic jump forward from Kyler Murray to Mahomes.

Imagine going from Lamar Jackson and your numbers go DOWN.

Kyler Murray has never had a starting wide receiver have their best season with him throwing. It's insane. He is low key terrible.

Worst touch of any QB I've ever seen - including Justin Fields.

He just has no feel for throwing the football. He rips everything. And such he's short, he can't get above the ball and guide it into intermediate areas on the field so he's a guy who's stuck working short and then deep balls. And the deep balls are too flat and largely inaccurate.

He's a complete mess as a passer - a pure scramble drill guy. If he can get your defense out of scheme and playing playground ball by breaking the pocket, he can occasionally use that raw arm strength to find a throwing lane in the maelstrom. But he also usually drops the passer icons too early and starts looking to run.

It's pretty hard to overstate how bad he is. He's one of the worst in football, IMO.

Aren't there people out there claiming that Ewers is QB2 in this coming draft? I keep seeing people talk about him as a potential top 10 pick but then everything I read from UT fans is that he's a garbage pile.

There's a reason he had two different top 50 wideouts praised for their deep ball tracking skills. Shit was errant all the time.

Same with Jayden Daniels. He is astonishingly inaccurate throwing deep.

I'm so excited to see some competent speed return. Since Tyreek we've had some guys with speed, but they've mostly sucked or in Hardman's case was more of a gadgety guy. Worthy brings absolute pure blazing speed, but according to a ton of draft publications is one hell of a route runner. Hollywood Brown isn't no slouch either.

Teams are going to have to respect the deep ball for the first time in a long time and Kelce and Rice (barring he hasn't gotten himself thrown in jail) should absolutely feast.

MVS is plenty fast but teams aren't going to respect the deep ball if he just sprints 40 yards and drops the ball.

I think people age differently.

If you look at the “routes run mph over 20” stat line hollywood brown had the second most to Tyreek in the past few years.

Mvs had very few of them.

I expect us to have the second fastest wr group to Miami this year, which is a massive overhaul since last year we were bottom 5 or so in speed at wr.

It is quite amazing that we were able to get possibly the 2nd and 3rd fastest guys in the nfl (after Tyreek) in one offseason - even hard to do in madden. I wish we had hollywood for more than one year.

It's a pretty common trend for people who don't often go to urban areas to vastly exaggerate safety issues in urban areas. The news does a horrible job of conveying the frequency of issues.

Based on what a lot of people here say, downtown Denver is a drug infested wasteland. Do homeless people and drug use exist? Sure. Have I ever felt unsafe? Nah.

The only time I've had my car broken into was when I was just parked in the 'burbs.

To the same extent as the Plaza?

The Plaza was at 83% occupancy as of the end of 2023. And the Plaza’s owners defaulted last year as well.

And Town Center Plaza and similar places in Johnson County don’t have the high crime issues impacting the Plaza.

It's a shopping district/center. Turnover of store fronts is normal. The Nordstrom failed not because of crime in the area, but because of COVID fallout to brick and mortar stores.

I'm down there all the time. Walk up during the day from work (my office is adjacent). Go there for dinner. Walk around at night. All four seasons.

Like any shopping area, it has the occasional influx of teenagers up to no good as they try to kill time. But it is not an unsafe place by any means.

The truth is that there really is not an unsafe area in Kansas City outside of the Crime Square of 20th North to 40th South, The Paseo to the West to Prospect to the East. That area is where the overwhelming majority of serious or violent crime in Kansas City occurs.

Had my car stolen in Los Angeles and called the cops to tell them I had video of the crime. They never showed up, went into the police station on the 3rd day and the cop just laughed at me. The place was a ****ing zoo, constant fire alarms during the approx 1 hr I was there, an old lady's house was actively being broken into after the cops just chased off the same guy, they didn't want to go back just told her to close her doors lol, a 7-11 was held up at gun point by two teens, and there was a massive DUI car accident right in front of the station. I teased him that they're so understaffed he should think about changing sides, he teased back "think about it all the time."

Cop is a shit job, they need waaaaaay more resources than they currently have, which atleast out here turns them bad sometimes. I've heard so many terrible cop stories out here, they're the most feared gang in LA.

lmao we should give LA cops more money huh

Remember the Christmas Day debacle? The Fade literally just let MVS go and barely covered him because they didn’t feel he was a threat to catch the ball. That’s insane with a quarterback like Mahomes. But they gambled and were right that day, because if/when the ball went his way he wasn’t catching shit. Dude had zero catches that day.

OK, which one of you low lifes were Prowling around the P&L last night? Wonder what kind of car it was? Maybe a Kia. I understand they're easy to steal!

Is there any hard data on size as it pertains to injury risk? You could argue that most of the bad injuries are non contact, and larger players are just as , if not more susceptible to them than smaller guys.

JPH83 05-16-2024 11:07 PM

Wouldn't call it hard data but somewhat encouraging

If you reference StolenKC, every damn day you'll see another Hellcat or similar type car stolen. Cops don't have the resources to deal with it, and the thieves know that.

How do people even get their vehicle stolen? I don't even know how you would steal my car. It wouldn't drive. I don't know how it would even be possible. And then I would get an immediate notification to my app.

I'm not going through that but hilarious how hard they must have had to scrub to find a picture of Xavier Worthy injured considering he had one minor ankle sprain in his entire college career that caused him to miss zero games.

I mean he also broke his hand but that's not what I'd call an injury history.

Just sign Mecole. Him and Toney can run a straight or post route deep. They should get open at least once a game, if they catch the ball. defenses will change. And if not at least they could clear more space for Worthy and Kelce to take advantage of underneath.

Overall, this is going to be our most talented team we have ever had and this team can bring that 3peat home.

Got his car stolen from the garage at Two Light apartments. Damn…

Co-worker of mines daughter does social media for the royals. She's had hers stolen twice.

Based on what a lot of people here say, downtown Denver is a drug infested wasteland. Do homeless people and drug use exist? Sure. Have I ever felt unsafe? Nah.

The only time I've had my car broken into was when I was just parked in the 'burbs.

LOL. Sure. You can walk around these boojie downtowns and enjoy the veneer of safety. But you're dealing with 63 crimes per 1000 people in KC. That's dangerous. At some point if you keep walking around downtime like a smiley white guy just out there living your life you might observe some wild shit or get mixed up with some dangerous individuals.

Kiimo 05-17-2024 08:05 AM

Bourgeois. Facade. Pretty buildings surrounded by kids with party guns.

People have been getting mugged in the parking garages of the Plaza for years.

It's not a secret, it just doesn't get reported on, for obvious reasons.

You're right, it's best to stay home and cower in the basement.

lol I'm just laughing because spelling bourgeoisie "boojie" is about as Missouri as pronouncing Versailles "ver sails"

You did for far less (covidiot). All I know is that if I'm walking around an urban city (and I've been in quite a few and ridden greyhounds in my past) with a 70\1000 violent crime rate than my heckles are raised. I'm aware of my surroundings. I'm walking with a purpose and I'm ignoring shitbag eye contact. I'm not telling my Mom to come roam around the city center like it's Tokyo.

Kiimo 05-17-2024 08:14 AM

Oh yeah bring the pandemic into this you're winning the thread
