Where’s all the cut this mf guys? Probably in dc virtue signaling election stuff if I had to guess. That garbage debate gave them a gust of wind their sails haven’t seen since last months cialis script hit.

That will pay dividends when Rice gets back

I kinda want him to serve his suspension to start the year to force the young guys to take their lumps.

Not only should Rice not be suspended at all, Roger Goodell should personally give him $1 million for being so cool at driving

Coogs 07-09-2024 05:27 AM

Is the lady that had to get a stitch or two in her eyelid still bedridden? Or did her Dallas version of the "Better Call Mike" personal injury lawyer get her millions in damages and set her up for commercials to be run endlessly in the Dallas TV market?

There. That ought to get the "cut Rashee crew" back in this thread.

It's all because Rice is a Chief, and our success.

There was video evidence of Rice’s accident. That always makes it worse in the public eye.

Guy is more NFL ready than any rookie WR we've ever had under Reid, and he was still there getting the mental reps. It's more about learning the offense than anything.

I bet he plays more week 1 than you think.

Why not?

The facts aren't really in dispute and the legal process shouldn't ultimately determine the outcome.

If I'm Rice (and Hunt) I'm approaching the NFL about trying to get some finality here.

As a Chief? Maybe, but I would argue Rice played an immediate role week 1 just last year.

As an Eagles? No.

And Worthy is much closer to DJax and Maclin as a prospect than Tyreek and Hardman.

Matt Verderame talked about this on his pod the other day. He said he spoke with a Chiefs source and they told him that basically they knew they had. I ****ing choice but to put Rice in early and get him the ball bc of how bad the WR’s were last year.

You can put Rice in that same category (hence "maybe") as Hardman and Tyreek and the point still stands.

That took alot of bad things to happen for that to go down week 1 though.

If Rice had missed all of the preseason injured, I doubt he'd have been that either.

They may get him a shot play or so or some manufactured touches, but with Hardman here that role seems to be taken.

Yea on the other hand, letting as much time pass as possible since the incident would kind of soften the optics of the whole thing a little bit maybe.

ROFL

What are you thinking? Worthy isn't even seeing the field?

They didn't go out there and get all this speed at WR to play a guy that was essentially benched after a terrible divisional round until he got an easy TD in OT in the SB.

Holy ****, I can't beleive how many of you are forgetting what Hardman did in the divisional round.

Oh I remember.. But we won, so I'm more forgiving.

He also had a sweet catch on a deep ball in the SB. Not to mention the game winning catch.

Kiimo 07-09-2024 01:46 PM

It would be nice if Worthy got a lot of reps in OTAs though. If he had been blowing up all over the field like Hollywood Brown was I would be firmly in the camp of he's playing early and often.

I still might be, I'm just saying I wish he practiced

Dude played like one snap in the AFCCG. It was so bad he was basically benched.

He went back to playing his 18-20 snaps in the SB, and he made a couple plays, but they did not attack the WR position to go out there and play a guy that they benched in the AFCCG over the guy they just traded up for in the 1st round.

Midway in the season? Absolutely.

Dude, they used Hardman and Tyreek very early on in that same gadget role.

I don't think you really understand how much more polished Worthy is than those 2 guys and Rice coming out.

There is absolutely no reason he can't do the gadget stuff week 1 after a full TC. This is just silly.

People seem to forget that Worthy was a 1st round pick. KC didn't draft him to have him sit behind scrubs for a year. He should be on the field early and often, starting in week 1.

O.city 07-09-2024 02:03 PM

They'll absolutely get him involved early and often....if he can be healthy.

I'm not sure you guys are getting where my skepticism is coming from here. He hasn't practiced, IIRC, with full team stuff any this offseason. For a rookie that's not ideal. He's still got TC so it could all work out fine, I don't blame them for being cautious with a hammy, but the timing and such matters.

Yeah, it's super annoying how people think of Worthy as some Hardman clone or dumb shit like him. He's 100x the route runner Hardman was coming out and I bet he's significantly better than Hardman is at running routes even if he's going into his 6th NFL season.

Worthy is a polished route runner and I'm almost positive he's getting more playing time than Hardman, even early. He's gonna get the gadget role at first, but only because of how hard the playbook is to learn. Plus I am fairly certain that he's a lot smarter than Hardman and will pick it up much faster. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Worthy is our #3 by the middle of the season.

At this point in his career all Hardman really is is depth. His injury seems to have sapped a good portion of the speed that allowed him to be a really good gadget guy. If Hardman hadn't gotten that weird ass injury and still had his speed, then sure he'd probably be getting reps over Worthy, but he did get injured. Hardman is depth in case of injury and I will be really surprised if he's getting more playing time than Worthy at any point in the season.

As long as Worthy is healthy by TC and is able to get those reps, then he's above Hardman and is perfect for the gadget role to start out. The thing with Worthy is that he isn't a project like Hardman was. Worthy is a polished receiver and would have been a top 10-15 guy if he didn't have such a twiggy frame lol.

Yup it’s not a good thing for a rookie WR to miss OTA’s. That’s a key time to get on the field and run through the playbook early.

They don’t need Worthy this year bc Hollywood and Rashee will be here unlike last year when it was Rashee vs pure shit.

And if Worthy was the end-all-be-all they wouldn’t have brought back Mecole. It’s not that Mecole is better. It’s that he knows the offense completely and that will be important early on in the season.

New World Order 07-09-2024 07:45 PM

Yep.

Rice, Brown and Kelce with a solid running game is plenty this year to be back to a top 5 offense.

Worthy can sit back and learn.

BossChief 07-09-2024 07:53 PM

Im sure the last thing the league ever wants in these situations is to deal out punishment and then have a video come out showing the situation as much worse afterwards.

Don’t be obtuse. There were reports about stolen merchandise in the car, the way they left the scene was extremely suspect. I’m NOT saying there is more to this than we know already, but I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’m privy to all information, either.

It’s POSSIBLE what we saw in the short video is everything there is to the case….its also POSSIBLE (in a hypothetical worst case scenario) that they had just robbed somebody and maybe even hurt someone prior to racing off.

Chiefs in it for the long grain

Katipan 07-10-2024 05:30 AM

8 games for 1 misdemeanor
1 misdemeanor for choking her

Only 1 of these is shocking

BWillie 07-10-2024 05:59 AM

Choking someone is next level psychotic shit. Psychos do it because they can see and feel the life of that person being extinguished.

Rice was just being young and dumb. Huge difference. No way the two punishments should be comparable.

The actions and outcomes don’t have to be comparable at all.

One is on video, the other wasn’t. That plays a huge role.

Instead of being a quick headline that people read about and move on from (the average person doesn’t click links and read stories, let’s be honest), the video gets plastered on every form of social media and gets seen by tens of millions.

Doesn’t really matter. They say both cars were traveling at speeds in excess of 115 mph 5 seconds before the crash. Knox’s car was still traveling at 91 mph 1 second before impact.

It may have looked slow but it was an extremely dangerous situation all around.

I’m not acting like anything. You read my completely dispassionate, logical posts and put your own emotional spin on it.

I didn’t think the Kareem Hunt video was that bad, for the record. He kicked that girl like you’d kick your dog to get him off the couch.. but I think that actually strengthens my point. TMZ plastered that video everywhere with the headline “Kareem Hunt BRUTALIZES woman” and it completely drives a specific narrative. With no video that whole ordeal would have been a huge nothing.

It may have looked slow but it was an extremely dangerous situation all around.

You cant say "there is video!" and then when someone points out the video does not look bad at all say "That doesn't matter because it was reported they were going 115 at some point".

If the video makes it look like jack and shit, which it does, then the video does not make it worse. Both things cant be true at the same time.

The video isn't really damaging outside of them walking away. But that doesn't make the video super violent or dangerous looking.

But they were casually walking away, as if they robbed someone. And had drugs and weapons and stolen merchandise. You can tell, based on the "reports" from totally not biased Texans seeing black youths on a highway in fancy cars.

One is on video, the other wasn’t. That plays a huge role.

Instead of being a quick headline that people read about and move on from (the average person doesn’t click links and read stories, let’s be honest), the video gets plastered on every form of social media and gets seen by tens of millions.

This is so ****ing stupid, and typical of you.

The video had very little impact on anything. Of course a video of a man putting his hands on a woman is a game changer. It's juicy. A video of a car wreck that wasn't even deadly, and shows nobody getting hurt, isn't going to move the needle at all. To this day, I remember exactly what the Ray Rice and Hunt videos looked like. I can hardly even remember the Rice video already.

I cant even believe you're trying to make this reeruned ass argument.

Well I actually disagree with the premise that it looked like a “slow motion spin out” or didn’t look bad. I was hoping that by posting info on the rates of speed you could see that it was that bad, despite the way you perceive it to be.

I think this is actually a big part of the reason car accidents are so dangerous. People are so flippant about getting inside a 3,000 pound box of metal traveling at insane speeds. They overestimate their own ability and underestimate the danger.

I don’t think I’m going to change your mind on the actual collision looking “bad” or not but we know Rashee was driving at speeds in excess of 115 mph on a major highway near rush hour, we have him on video drag racing up the median going, and causing a five or six car pileup spanning the entire four lanes. At one point two card ended up sideways, backwards.

A video is always going to get more play than an article. Blame our short attention spans or low literacy rates, but that’s just the way it is.

Pasta Little Brioni 07-10-2024 08:46 AM

On second thought he shouldn't even be suspended. Especially with no proof of anything at the moment of wrong doing

staylor26 07-10-2024 08:46 AM

When the videos of Ray Rice and Kareem Hunt were released, it changed EVERYTHING. It was so bad that it meant the teams had to move on after trying to get away with a slap on the wrist.

The Rashee Rice video changed absolutely nothing.

The reaction tells you everything you need to know about how bad the video is from an optics perspective. Everybody knew there was an accident/wreck. Seeing it doesn't really have an emotional impact. Seeing somebody commit domestic violence is the kind of breaking news video that makes thing significantly worse.

Video of Kamara and his possee beating the **** out of a guy didn't even move the needle much in terms of national outrage, but I'm supposed to believe a video of a car wreck did? LMAO

Agreed, and suspend his driver's license for a year for his own sake.

Four games negotiated down to two is what I'm feeling.

IMO Goodell is afraid of looking like a pushover and setting a precedent, so there has to be something done in this situation to try to stave off other young players from being dumb down the road.

Dude's a ****ing masochist.

Its crazy how those in sports media amped this up, which was done because the Chiefs being without a promising WR is great click bait.

I mean even Chiefs podcasters have speculated about 8 games. It's ridiculous. Are you going to suspend played who are driving under the influence of alcohol or pot because they "could" have killed somebody? To me that's what you have to look at here if you are the NFL. It's an auto accident. The guy that got hurt didn't want Rice to be charged with assault. Its one thing to make an example out of domestic abuse cases, if you choose to make an example out of Rice you better be willing to suspend anyone for 8 games with impaired driving.

Did you forget that he was filmed fleeing the scene as well?

The Ray Rice video, sure. The Hunt video wasn’t the same, especially given the fact that it’s been said that the front office actually release Kareem because he lied about the incident, not because of the incident or video itself.

ThaVirus 07-10-2024 09:20 AM

Also, note the story of the alleged photographer assault. That story was out in the wind for like two weeks before charges were suddenly dropped but it didn’t reach near the level of nationwide exposure that the car crash did.

Wonder why..

Pasta Little Brioni 07-10-2024 09:20 AM

Some say "fleeing". Others he was casually walking away. Maybe to find help or slightly concussed so not in the right frame of mind :) the other point could be the driver climbed over him to get out :)

You mean the video that had Chiefs fans, who actually know what Rashee looked like, arguing over which guy, if any, was Rashee?

LMAO

Most people didn't even see that video. Nobody cares about the actual video.

And holy **** you actually believe the Chiefs PR excuse? Of course they aren't going to acknowledge that they cut Hunt because of the optics after the video was released. You're SO ****ing stupid dude.
