Think they said that Carr went 2-7 or 2-11 in the 2nd half. Just horrific.

Carr is now 32nd out of 33 qualifiers this season in red zone passer rating for #Raiders at 71.5. Only Russell Wilson is worse at 67.2

Carr is a textbook example of why stats just don't paint a complete picture of the player.
This season he's 10th in QBR, putting him ahead of (in no particular order) Justin Herbert, Jimmy G, Tom Brady, Kirk Cousins, Matt Stafford, and Joe Burrow, among others. In his career, he's ahead of Jared Goff, Josh Allen, Matt Stafford, Andrew Luck, Duante Culpepper, Alex Smith and Dan Marino in Career Passer Rating, among others. So anyone that hasn't watched Carr as closely as most Chiefs fans might think he's pretty good. But clearly, he's not. |

I hope this is the last we see Derek..........the rest of the AFC wants him to stay a Raider forever lol. |
I think he's OK not great not horrible. Would love to see what he could do on a team like the 49ers

He looked like he was going to be a stud early on, he made some incredible passes, I think he regressed when he broke his leg.

Well...bye
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr hasn't been doing what the team needs him to do this season, and if they want to cut him, they should soon.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr unfortunately hasn't had the greatest season, and his contract has him set up for a potential out by February 15 with minimal financial penalty on the team if they cut him. He's set to make $116 million for the next three seasons if they keep him around, but if they cut him by February, they'll only have $5.625 million in dead cap. |

Brady to LV? Maybe just straight across trade Carr to TB for TB?
Lol, Carr is absolute trash. Just got beat not only on the scoreboard, but in every statistical metric by the 65th ranked QB in the league. Time to go. |

McDaniels to consider benching underperforming Carr
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith (56) sacks Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Ca ... Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith (56) sacks Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (4) during the second half of an NFL football game in Pittsburgh, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022. (AP Photo/Don Wright) By Vincent Bonsignore Las Vegas Review-Journal December 26, 2022 - 12:58 pm At a time when the Raiders need quarterback Derek Carr to play his best football, he’s playing his worst. And while there are several reasons why Carr has thrown nine interceptions over his past five games and completed just 55 percent or fewer of his passes over his last four, there is no denying the fall-off. Nor the role it’s played in the Raiders losing two out of their past three games to put their playoff hopes in severe distress. “That’s not good enough, you know what I mean?” said Raiders coach Josh McDaniels. “And for us to be able to win this time of the year and be productive offensively, you have to throw the ball better than what we’ve thrown it at times here over the last month-and-a-half.” When asked directly on Monday whether he would consider turning to backup Jarrett Stidham, McDaniels was non-committal. “I think there’s a possibility that we would do the right thing, regardless of the position, in terms of the team,” McDaniels said. Carr’s slide and the Raiders’ dire playoff predicament raise a question of whether the Raiders (6-9) should make a change at quarterback over the last two games to preserve their long-range options at the position. The club faces a huge decision in mid-February whether to keep intact their relationship with Carr beyond the 2022 season or — and this is becoming more and more of a possibility — release or trade him to move on from the remainder of his contract without suffering a hefty financial blow. Carr signed a 3-year, $121.5 million contract last offseason, but it includes an out at the end of this season in which the Raiders can move on while incurring just a $5.6 million dead cap hit. There is no firm sense that the Raiders have made up their mind either way, although Carr’s recent play certainly has not helped his case. Complicating matters is that Carr’s 2023 salary of $33 million and $7.5 million of his 2024 salary becomes guaranteed should he suffer a serious injury over the last two games. Is that a risk the Raiders should take? McDaniels said there have been no discussions yet about how to handle Carr’s playing time. But he did say the club will take everything into account when making that decision. That goes for a number of players, including those that are working their way back from injuries, such as Chandler Jones and Denzel Perryman, both of whom were hurt Saturday against the Steelers. But almost certainly, Carr will fall into that category. “I think there are a lot of things that are going to go into that bucket,” McDaniels said. McDaniels went out of his way to spread the blame around to not single out Carr as the sole reason for the prolonged struggles. He mentioned the level of protection for Carr, the route running from receivers and the ability of everyone to be on the same page reading defensive coverages. But football typically begins and ends with the play of the quarterback, and Carr has not been good enough recently. “Everybody can do better, and I’m sure he’d be the first one to tell you he can do the same thing,” McDaniels said. Keeping McBugel instead over the QB that got us our only playoff berths since 2002. Embarrassing fan base right now. |

I'm OK if Carr leaves and the Raiders start to look for his replacement. |
I don’t dislike Carr at all, he seems like a good dude, but it’s been 9 years and he’s not growing as a QB, in fact this year he regressed hard. It’s time both he and the Raiders tried something else.
I’m just not fine with McDaniels choosing whoever succeeds Carr. |
Quote:
There is data out there that shows under McZ every facet of the Raiders have improved from last year except the QB is the only regression. The defense in the last 9 games ranks above average while Carr leads in INT`s and is only above Wilson in QBR. Ouch |

Barring the CIN game, our DL has put a lot of heat on opposing QB's. Jones is the best in the game right now, George is finding his groove, Dunlap has made his presence felt, and Frank does have his moments. Not to mention Dana is sneaky good rushing from the interior. No reason to let Carr take that punishment if he's already nicked up. Smart move by LV IMHO.
